Interested to hear what Aekins did wrong for the Fogarty try @mxlegend99? Obviously other than not being Matty Moylan Burton that is.

& the Kelly try, was that him disguised as Naden who decided to run in field for no apparent reason giving his opposing number a salon run to the try line?

The lengths some will go to...
Betcats already answered about the Kelly try

The Fogarty try he was just simply too slow. Not his fault. But when Mitch Kenny is faster than your back 3 there's something wrong. Edwards for mine has the pace to stop him. But no the try isn't Aekins fault. He was just too slow to be able to chase him down. The fact Naden from other side of the field got closest is insane. As was our back 3 being no faster than our forwards

I'm not trying to bully you, and I'm sorry if that final comment was taken as such.

I'm a Burton fan. I've mentioned before that I would have been happy for him to get the nod in Rnd 1. And I thought he thoroughly outplayed Luai in Rnds 3 - 4. But Ivan didn't agree, and Luai has bounced back in a big way. I even advocated for Burton to play Fullback this week before the team was named. But I support the team above all else.

Given our ladder position, I just cannot understand how anyone can argue that we've made the wrong choice by benching Burton. We're undefeated since Tyrone May has come back. We would have been 10 wins, 1 loss if Cleary played against Newcastle.

I'm happy to engage with you on this topic if you're willing to meet in the middle, and not get so defensive. Everything that has come direct from a Panthers source about Burton has indicated that he's in our plans long term. And we've all seen him on the paddock - he's a gun. I just don't see how he fits in the team at the moment, unless Cleary or Luai are injured.
Apology is accepted. It was a tad aggressive, however, we will move on. Likewise, I was not meaning to be defensive either. He could, mostly like, will be lost. I fear this could be Wade Graham mark two.

The Don try was on the back of Crichton rushing up and getting beaten by the cut out ball, and then falling over and tripping Luai in the scramble to recover. It was quite the comedy.

Cleary over called Luai too much in this game which is why I commented earlier if Kenny only passes one way.

Cleary getting 90 receipts to Luai only 42 is over kill.
There were many moments in the game where Kenny went right to Cleary instead of going left to Luai and May.

Although Kenny did a commendable job, this is where we miss Api.

That is a very good point. In the past id be screaming for the ball to go to Luai however its Nathan's team now. If he calls for it he gets it unless your 9 sees otherwise.

Reminiscent of Peats and Pearce in Origin 2017.

I agree with both of you, but in regards to burtons training, he just started with the development squad, its gonna take him a few seasons to be around the squad first, i remember him playing flegg then nswcup in a matter of months, you cant just push Burton to 1st grade constantly just yet. Important thing is to get him in and around the top 17, even if he gets a minute or two.
He is young, he will fill out more. I see him as a future lock forward, just like Isaiah Yeo, but with even more ball playing skill, i don't see him as a 5/8th or centre Stuck on one side of the field.
I think thats where Ivans going to play him in future, just not this year.
At the moment his defense isn't 1st grade, so Ivan can't risk fielding him on our tight games, kinda think Ivan fkd up against the sharks, he didn't think we would have a field day against them, thats why he wasn't there, if he was on the bench that day at kogarah, Ivan probably would have played him over nathan 2nd half atleast for the last 20-30mins. So until he gets another pre season into him expect Burton on the slow burn, and btw Luai and nathan had to wait behind soward and maloney, burtons gotta do the same. And if he goes elsewhere he won't get better playing at the dogs/titans/dragons etc if they are dangling a 1st grade spot for him, he'll just go backwards

Agree with this. This is how I see it. Figured Titans was good for a few minutes but I'm sure Ivan has a plan.

Today wasn’t a Storm or Roosters performance. They at there best would have put the Titans away and not given them a sniff. This afternoon wasn’t vintage, wasn’t GF stuff but it was another win given we needed to win and will get stronger when we get players back.

Who is your best attacking weapons?
I would say Kikau and Korsiau certainly. And Too and Edwards would be the others along with Crichton. So 4 of best weapons out.
Add Tetavano,Whare and Capewell. Those guys where covered but certainly will be in the side when all fit bad perhaps Whare.

I am interested in what happens when Capewell is fit. I like Liam Martin and feel he gives more thrust. But Capewell was knocking on door of origin.
Will the bench be

Martin, Leoa,Tetavano,May

I like the idea of Leinu on the bench.

I don’t see it that way. Why can’t we retain both? It just balancing the books and getting the best bang for the buck under the $10M salary cap or whatever figure it happens to be.

I do understand the point you are making but in a season or two Burton may be to big for the halves and may end up a ball playing lock.

Both will want to start in halves at some point. Will have to make a choice.

Interesting. Ryan Matterson was a great half in all his juniors. But he ended up in the 2nd row and also plays lock. Burton is a superior talent as far as skill goes. I haven't seen his power game. Matto just hit gym and added 10kgs and that was that. But it maybe cause his skill set wasn't strong enough as an NRL half while Burton's are.

and here you go again BANGING on about SILMES players.

Hindy This is a Penrith forum. I couldn't give a flying fig about any slimes players past, present or future.

You come over here more reguarly than you're at home.

Just shut up about the slimes players NO ONE CARE. That or PISS OFF.

(Sorry for the yelling, but I've had it up to pussys bow). Penrith are 1st on the ladder at the moment. The slimes aren't........You don't seem to listen.

Hindy has said many times Panthers are his second team so I can understand why he'd have an interest in our club.

It should also be noted that for a Parra fan, he actually has some interesting insights into our players. He rates the Parra players higher than others probably would, but that's fan bias for you. We're all guilty of the same thing at one stage or another.

It's a fair comparison with both Mattison being a half moving to the second row and many people including Ivan thinking Burton has the same potential due to his size. @hindy111 did give our side due respect. Also not surprised he likes us having grown up in our territory.

What insights. About how wonderful SLIMES players are ?

If I wanted to read someone banging on about SLIMES I would go and read their forum.

Yep it might be his 2nd team .....(personally can't understand that concept) but for heavens sake give the SLIMES talk a rest.......

If ya gunna ramble inately on about slimes players (as Hindy does almost every 2nd post) DO IT ON YOUR OWN FORUM.

Ok...

FYI, you're coming across as extremely petty and immature in this case.
