Great 1st interview by Ryan Carr and certainly was impressive to hear his vision for team unity.
It’s the first RedV coaching interview I’ve stayed awake for in over 2 years.
Well done Ryan & well spoken young man. I hope he makes a real difference in our performance & perhaps stays on under the new coach if successful.
Carr is very young 33 I think, it must be a refreshing change for the players. He’s certainly putting a case forward to stay on under Ryles.

One thing though, he said the decision was already made before Hook left to make the team changes. I’m calling BS on that, no way Hook would have dropped Mbye!

I’m looking for an improved attitude by the players. With the sacking on our 1st training run and only 1 more hit out after that before Fridays game I’m not sure if they will change lots of their play, as much as I would like to see something different to 5 one out hit ups followed by a Hunt bomb that nobody chases. Having said all that, i tripped them to win, but maybe that is because I’m a tragic supporter tipping with his heart

I think we are morals for this game - I don’t know what gives me the confidence - was it the coaches cool assured demeanour in his recent interview , is it the fact that the players now have the spotlight squarely on them to perform as Hook is now gone - f**ked if I know … I just feel supremely confident for this game ….

He mentioned they've set some non-negotiables for the game & moving forward. He also mentioned he wants the boys to enjoy the game & see them smile more. Hopefully it means better attitude towards defence & throwing the ball around a bit more in attack.
Yeh well i hope their ‘smiling’ as they tackle the opposition effectively and put them on the ground; i know ill be smiling…. Havent used those facial muscles for a while!

well said justa, would you like to give coaching a go?
Thanks Jak, I think all of us on this forum have felt the same, very frustrated, very delusional and most of all very disappointed, not just with the coach but with most things at the club especially at Board level. As for coaching I do coach mini league at the under 10's level, which I must say is quite similar to what I'm seeing from our NRL side :)) especially the part of crying when the kids dont want to play in a certain position :)))

There were a lot of things he said so as to not throw Hook totally under the bus. He had to hold the higher ground, lets just all move on now and get a win here. All I'm looking for is an attitude change, win, lose or draw I want to see effort with some pride.

mini league at the under 10's level is way above what saints have been doing for the last decade.

I am really worried for everyone’s well-being reading all this positivity and win predictions.

gamble responsibly!

After tonight please remember…..it’s just a game
The quicker we get rid of all the negativity that we have expressed over the past few years the better ( I am one of the culprits from time to time). Like our players, our attitudes will need to change and become more positive for our future.

If we can be more positive and show it at the games and on social media and on this Forum, it will surely be sensed by the club and the players which I think will lift them. Having so much weight on the players for so long has been a massive burden, so its onwards and upwards and fun from now on boys and girls.

As you say Miller, it's just a game.

I'm not backing on a win tonight.
A loss it will be the same as the past 6 weeks.
But in the next few, weeks a different style of footy is what I would like.
Play what's in front of them would be a start not structured play which doesn't work.

When they give us some wins that's something to be positive sbout.
I will give them credit.
We can only support them as fans.
But at the moment, the facts are the facts, unfortunately.

Funny place this forum
All of a sudden it looks like

Sloan can catch and tackle
Faegai & Lomax have speed
Hunt & Bird no longer arm grab
Kerr has mongrel and will dominate
Lawrie will make the ad line and bust through tackles
Hunt & Amone will combine in the halves
De Belin will be an outstanding ball playing middle
Hunt will have a great kicking game and make the clutch plays
Our edge players will be put into holes
Our fitness levels are over the moon and we wont be fatigues after 10 minutes
We won't do dumb shit and talk back to the refs

What are the odds to win the comp let's all get on.

For the first time in a while I'm optimistic about this match. Roosters aren't travelling well either, they're missing a few key players. We've hopefully addressed some of the poorer aspects of our game, like the effort areas with kick pressure, kick chase, attitude in defence. Looking forward to the game, hoping just to see a bit more effort & better attitude.
