Not in negotiations with Cessnock as far as I know. Possibly Maitland though, Jamie Battye was a late addition to their squad this year who is close to 30 but they have a young 1/2 coming thru in Blake Birch. Noel Dent has ties with the Dragons so he might be testing the water to see what is out there. I would imagine that they would try to recruit from outside the hunter valley, they would not have used many points this year, Moana Mason (country rep - 150 pts), osborn (1st grader - 75pts), Battye (1st grader - 75pts) plus few others to name.

There is 4 of them playing footy? wow
All halves or 5/8s, and all have played at Premier League or NSW cup level (except maybe Blake who might have peaked at Flegg level).
The two from Denman both played in the Saints juniors.

Which is the best of them do you think roop?
My favourite was Scotty's older brother, Luke.
The best halves combination at Flegg level for the knights was 7 Chris Tyrie, 6 Luke Dureau - those guys were doing things at Flegg level that Johns would learn and do in firstgrade a month later - but he was even smaller and less athletic than Scotty, so even though he had the best footy brain seen in years, he was never going to make it in the seniors.
I still think Mullen, Walsh and Dureau learnt to be quality halves at a young age by hanging out with Luke Dureau.

Luke has had a couple of games with Macquarie 2's this year, he is a golf pro at Crown Plaza near Cessnock Airport

Named to play 7 for Macquarie 2's on Sunday
Maitland got rolled by the Goeys today 50-12. Game did not reach any great heights but the Cessnock lads were to good for us. Tovo tried hard along with Vern Moana Mason until he re-injured his knee. Could be a long 6 weeks for the Pickers

Butcher Boys got up.

Not before patto and Doogs carved up the left edge in the second half though.

Dan was solid. Needs some match fitness as you would expect.

Tim taken off after 10 minutes. High shot. Badly concussed. Hope he does not have a broken jaw.....

Shame re: Tim

I hope Karma went down to watch Macquarie vs Souths to report on how his favourite player went :p

I hope he was prevented from playing actually.

Can you imagine if he got injured playing for the Scorpions while Mullen was out?

I actually had that in the back of my mind too...still, I'd bet he needs the match fitness from playing today and next weekend.

Two weeks of solid training then start of the bench. Rogers to go back to left edge and maybe start with Marvin defending 3 in on the right hand side.

Dureau didn't play in the game, Smith stopped him playing following Mullos' injury. Also talk in todays paper of Smith leaving McDonnell at fullback and using Gidley in the halves!!
