If Dugan doesn't back up I will be very disappointed. If he breaks or pulls something during origin that's one thing, but should he come out unscathed he needs to renew his dedication to our club after another lengthy spell on the sidelines. We are paying him for now after all regardless of him being with Scumulla next year. I'm expecting he will back up.

Given that Duges is playing Centre in the next 3 SOO and we need to find a FB for next year, I'd like to see him continue to play at 3 this weekend, and try one of Field, Dufty or Mann in FB depending on wether Widdop is playing. We have a golden opportunity here to trial these guys at FB over the next few weeks against Tigers, Bulldogs and Parra.
This would surely tighten our right side D,
give us an insight into our FB options and add some much needed spark at the back.

Midway through the season where we are in the top 4 is no time to be trialling anyone. Play the first 17 in position.

I would play Dugan at the back. Why give opposition teams an advantage by playing a debutin at fullback?
Dugan is safe at the back. We need to bank points against teams like tigers. Don't give them a sniff.

Yeap you are correct ot.
If melbourne make the top 4 wich they will.
They will play every game in semis at home same with broncos or cowboys.

Mary has made the stupid statement - Dugan to be fullback while ever he is coach. This will block the testing of Dufty/Field/Mann at fullback. And even when Dugan is not available, Mary selects Nightingale at fullback.

However, Millward wants Field at fullback for 2018, what if he is not up to it? Do we just lose games in 2018 while testing prospective fullbacks. Maybe even losing Mann because we did not test and find him suitable for selection at fullback. It's a mess.

I'm confused, Milne replaced an injured Aitken. FFL replaced Nightingale on the wing. Are you suggesting that Milne would be selected in reserve grade and Nightingale would play right centre if Field or Dufty played fullback.

The statement that Nighty to FB gives Milne a centre spot is not correct.
Originally Mary put Milne to Wing and when he got injured Mary re jigged 3 positions in that game including moving Mann from 5/8 to wing FFS.
Nighty to FB only ever frees up a wing spot nothing more.
If Milne is to get a run in the centres or Mann for that matter Lafai or Aitken has to be injured or dropped.
As you correctly pointed out Nighty to FB last time meant KFFL to wing so nothing to do with Milne at all.

Milne is a centre not a winger.
He should have been given a go at centre when Aitken was playing poorly and that would constitute Mary giving Milne a go.
When Nighty went to FB a winger should have been promoted to replace him and that would be giving them a go.
The whole notion of Milne is about playing centre not playing wing and Mary's selection of him on the wing was not in essence giving him a go, it was clueless and showed exactly were he lacks skill as a coach and why many in this place still question his ability.

Many fans said put mann in the centre when aitken got injured.
