I think for our clubs immediate future, Mahoney having a top game out of dummy half will be a real shining light.

Going by our luck this season, I’ll be amazed if he doesn’t sustain a career ending injury (I really hope he doesn’t)

We've named a genuine utility in the 21, clearly BA is satisfied that our backline players will be fit. Norman is the worry, hence a half who can play centre has been named

I'd have RVarR ahead of Hoffman and more than likely Gennings.

He's certainly done more than Auva'a in terms of being safe as a winger.

@Gazzamatta some interesting stats that augur's well for Mahoney getting some decent game time.

King has started 6 times this year in the number 9 and played 80 mins in 3 of those games.
Round 1 with no other hooking option on the bench
Round 3 when Smith came on in the 29th min for Hayne
Round 13 when Smith came on in the 3rd min for French

The other 3 games where King was the starting hooker he lasted 31, 30 and 35 mins before being replaced by Smith.

I dunno, maybe their form warrants it? From all accounts Hoffman slammed it in ISP when he was there recently. Can anyone say the same about Evans?
BA may be selecting based on form and if he can't split form then based on who is signed. Oh and I wouldn't be surprised to see Gower and Terepo re-signed as backups for 2019.

Personally I would actually prefer Auva's as he returns the ball stronger (when he holds onto it).
This week though, I would be worried about his ability under the high ball, which knowing Thurston we will see a few of.

You'd have to think that if the coach is going to name someone in the 17 to make their debut that they're going to play them.

I'd go as far as to say that if BA didn't give Mahoney a game this week to make his debut after naming him in the 17, then he should be shown the door (I doubt either is going to happen).

Yep, I have no doubt he will get game time. Gazzamatta and I were discussing how much he might get.

So Matagi,Vave,Terepo,Niakuore,Gower where below in pecking order and over taken him.

If 3 mentioned fit he would be even further away.

Yeah i dont think BA has alot of faith in King ... he has really only used him when he has had to
