f**k why get Maloney to backup?

6. May / Luai
7. Cleary

No risk at Maloney getting burned out.

He has had a huge year without a break. He deserves one.

Hook just told the media it is likely Maloney, Cleary, RCG and Peachey will all back up.

wow - this surprises me

Hook normally very conservative when it comes to this sort of thing.

Also it is the exact opposite of what Gould said in his podcast.... hmmm

They won't really know till they come back to the squad today and be assessed.

Maybe Hook and Griffin are playing mind games with Sticky? If I wasn't playing Cleary and Maloney I would leave an announcement late as possible to leave the opposition guessing.

Doesn't sound like either of them know yet. Gus won't be in Canberra, so I guess it's Hook's call.
It's good to have 21 players who want to play- plenty of options.

The blanket rule makes no sence. Peachey had 1 run and 3 tackles why could he not play? Get them there and see how they are tomorrow afternoon. I can't see all 4 playing

Hook speaks about Wallace's injury at the end of that video. Didn't sound to me like he was talking shit - sounds like a legitimate concern (presumably about worsening it) if they played him.

I don’t think it’s likely he’s been tapped on the shoulder, but the longer he stays out of the team the harder it will be for him to return.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he came to the realisation himself.

I listed who we had out. I doubt we would tap him on the shoulder until after the rep period (Still got 4 to make a long haul flight to US) won't have the halves for Warriors game. I can't see him being forced yet

I dont think we're tapping Wallace on the shoulder. Hook has shown he would pick him if fit. Last year against the Broncos he had no issue ripping Katoa from the field when Wallace was declared fit to return.

A fit Wallace is going to be in Hooks team somewhere. Even if it was the bench or reserves. We wont be writing off an experienced player this early in the season. He could very well be important to us in upcoming weeks

I agree Wallace most certainly not been 'tapped' on the shoulder he is simply injured and unavailable on that basis. Katoa & Egan are getting the job done for the moment and it makes sense to rest Wallace until such time he is over this shoulder injury he currently has.

Obviously the rigours of playing the NRL are fast catching up with Peter Wallace and I think it is in his best interest to retire at the season's end. I am sure he probably knows as much himself.

I still think he has a role to play in the second half of this season if he can get his body right.

At least this year they're letting him get to 100%

Watching origin replay and they said Cleary covered the most distance out of all players. Wonder how fatigued he is.
