We lost last week off a poorly contested kick, this week coming up against a noted kicker like Reynolds you'd think they would of addressed dot but nip, mansour does the same thing again and they also get us on the other side with an uncontested catch.

The same people who criticised Cartwright for throwing bad passes are now bending over backwards to make excuses for Moylan when we all know that bad passes are the coach's fault. ..

Talk about hypocrisy.

Guess what. All players make mistakes at times. Mistakes like that are not usually the fault of the coach.

Griffin has a lot to answer for. But he's not responsible for everything.

It was a f**king horrible play from Moylan but it happened in the 11th minute while we were up 8 0, it was big moment in the game but we should be able to recover with 70 odd minutes left. I didn't blame the refs in Brisbane and I'm not going to blame Moylan now. Re the Cartwright comparison, Moylan has 7 tries in 7 games and probably a similar number of try and linebreak assists over that period so there is that.

Katoa maybe a first grader. I'm not writing him off after 3 games of first grade. For sure he struggled yesterday when South's got a roll on but their pack was in complete control except for the first 10 minutes.

We need our pack to stop letting the opposition make more metres than they do every set. They get rolled through easily and then our back 3 get less room to work and are expected to carry our forwards up field.

So many games this year (Including yesterday) I've been impressed with our opening few sets. Our forwards looked very good with the ball in hand yesterday. Merrin and RCG were making great inroads up the middle.

1st South Sydney set and all that work was undone. They literally did the exact same to us and more.

Our pack needs to show far more intent in defence. The smarter teams can do it without getting penalised as well.

Moylan threw 1 bad pass and people are trying to use it as a gotcha moment. It's rediculous. That pass didn't cost us the game and it didn't stop us beating any top 8 teams. Neither did Carty to be honest. That record is on Griffin.

Read everyones posts. Everyone has called him out for it.

But he has one intercept in 5 games with a shitload of tries, try assists and linebreak assists. Cartwright had the opposite. It was intercepts every week. With no tries. No try assists or linebreak assists.

They arent even f**king close to comparable. It was a dumb play by Moylan... or a terrible pass. If not both. But one pass doesnt rule out everything else as that pass is the exception.

No shit. Literally no-one is arguing any differently, no matter how much you try to pretend otherwise.

Moylan at 6 is not the issue. He will be fine there. Everyone here who backs the coach will be excited to come in an say "Look, he did what you wanted in terms of 1 and 6 and we still lose" as if that means anything. When I was bucking for Moylan at 6, it wasn't because I thought it would magically make the team unbeatable; I wanted him there because it is obviously his best position AND Edwards is a better fullback.

But now that Griffin has addressed one of his glaring deficiencies (picking a team that makes sense), we still have to live with the other 4,217 problems he has until he gets around to solving them as well. Maybe he needs a priority list:

1. Mentality
2. Game plan instructions
3. Attacking set ups
4. Interchange use
5. Discipline

That would be a start. Go Griffin!

What did you miss?

Tom.

We lack ball control, discipline, composure, patience, mental toughness. Our defence is shit, our attacking structures and game plan is shit. Our use of the bench is shit...but all this is obviously the result of one f**king terrible pass thrown early in the game in round 17. Poor bloody Griffin you gotta feel for the guy, he probably didn't apply for this job, he just got handed a football team that actually needs coaching!

What the f**k are you talking about? Where did I say that Moylan's pass was the coaches fault? If you can't read or understand simple arguments, I simply can't help you.

My statement was "Now he can address HIS other glaring deficiencies" so of course the list is about him. Are you blind?

Plus, as you seem to believe so strongly that player mistakes are independent of the coach, why would I put "Stop players making mistakes" on a list of things Griffin should fix about himself? I mean, get a clue.

Exactly. How the f**k people can come on here after making excuses for Cartwright's errors in order to support Griffin's decision to not move Moylan and then isolate ONE Moylan mistake the the first quarter of a game and try to pin the shipping of 42 points on that one moment without dying of embarrassment at their breathtaking hypocrisy, I'll never know.

Of course, conveniently ignored is the fact that Edwards was our best player yesterday in a a shitty team effort.

"Composure, patience, mental toughness"

They're all aspects that a coach is meant to instil in a team.

There were so many problems with the team yesterday, but one reoccurring one is the 25 minute mark when we change the forwards.
Each week this has been a problem for us, Latu is giving a lot of penalties away and Browne offers very little, we always fall off the pace at that time.

Billy please reread the posts and I suggest you do it slowly so you can understand them, can you point out where anybody has said that Moylan shouldn't have been moved? Moylan was ineffective yesterday, it happens. If he was number 1 it would have been worse because we would have had even fewer running metres without Edwards.

We are better as a team because he was moved. However, as you have listed mentality is our biggest issue and on my list discipline is number 2.

Oh and by the way, Moylan himself has said he was responsible for changing the momentum of the game with his bad pass. The chaos effect and all that. Wings of a butterfly making a gentle breeze in the Amazon and we have Trump elected.

I forgot to mention that you know you are playing badly when Bryson Goodwin looks like Dally Messenger and is making half breaks in every tackle and Adam Reynolds looks like Andrew Johns. We were just f*cking awful.

There has to be some kind of issue within the squad for them to continually keep dropping there bundle like this after small setbacks. If this was a happy, committed squad that believed in themselves and the gameplan this shit wouldn't keep happening.

And I ain't sure what to do about that.

Give them a rocket? Maybe bench one of the big boys and let Akauola go AWOL for the first 15 so he sets the pace.

If Whare is injured long-term you would assume Peachey will now start at centre. Solves an issue for Griffin who I think has struggled to get Peachey into the game since he moved to the bench.
