Well I guess it’s a good thing we can put in a 6/10 performance and still win by 22 points. I am really happy for Dylan Edwards, he is like a different player to the one we saw earlier this season. Also thought Mansour had a great game with some strong runs and even leapt high to catch a bomb!

Hopefully Maloney gets a rest next week. He is playing well but I really want to see luai get another full game.
Poor second half for us really, not much going on for the first 30 of it but defence was good.

He was solid, massive effort backing up but yes he looks like needs a weeks sleep.

Luai is so off the cuff, he reminds me of Munster so much.

Glad to grab a 6th win in a row. Some great individual efforts tonight. But we still look average... if we can click just oncethough it looks like we have some points in us.

Thinking about it now. Maloney is a chance to play. Dragons is a massive match. Dave's Mate won't want to lose this one. Maloney might not get a rest at all.

We’ve been too structured for a while now, that’s what’s so refreshing about Luai, he just throws caution to the wind. Gives us a different dimension.

Sure, sometimes it doesn’t come off, like that pass he threw out of the full, but that’s the way he is.

Edwards, Maloney, Sauce and Naden for mine. Too needs to up his skill set in learning how to turn the ball back inside. He won't get it easier against much better defences.

Fisher-Harris still having more than his fair share of mistakes in his game.

Happy with the win especially the defence overall, and hope we go on from here.

Luai must be a starting half from now on - he's got so much more to add in attack compared with Cleary. He's a good dancer!

The other Mark was a good dancer as well when elegantly wasted.

Egan looks a million times better than earlier this yeae

I said this a few weeks ago, & was shut down by MX (shock me), our back 5 are so crucial to our sets & general momentum. They were putrid the first 10 weeks & we struggled to win a single ruck, which directly impacted our hookers ability to create. They got no space, time, couldn’t run etc.

Now our 5 are playing like world beaters, Egan has room to run. The defence is backpedaling at plays 3, 4, 5 & Egan can pick & choose his time to run.

Katoa would look a different player playing in this current team. I can’t help but think we pulled the trigger on Kenny really early - not that I think it’ll cost us much or he’s a bad player, I just think he was labelled our best option way too early.

No. Our team would look shit again if he were in the team. Him being gone is a big reason the team has improved.

Penrith Panthers too good for Gold Coast Titans in sixth straight win
NRL.com
3 minutes
Penrith have secured their sixth victory on the trot to surge into the top eight after cruising to a 24-2 win over Gold Coast at Panthers Stadium on Friday night.

After losing eight of their opening 10 games and copping heat from all angles the Panthers have turned their fortunes around and the 22-point win lifted them to eighth spot on the Telstra Premiership ladder

Coming off his Origin triumph just 48 hours earlier, James Maloney again showed his class by laying on two spectacular tries for winger Brian To’o – one with a brilliant long pass and the other with a pinpoint cross kick.

But it was livewire playmaker Jarome Luai who sparked an early onslaught as the Panthers raced out to a 14-2 lead at halftime.

Luai handled twice in the lead-up to fullback Dylan Edwards' try in the 29th minute and was a constant threat.

Titans fullback AJ Brimson did his best to inspire the visitors with a classic trysaver on Brent Naden in the 11th minute but that sort of desperation has been all too rare for the Titans.

Naden, who re-signed with the club on a new two-year deal earlier in the night, ran for 232 metres and looked at home alongside Viliame Kikau on the left edge.

Titans winger Phillip Sami went close to scoring for the visitors but was held up by a solid effort from Edwards over the line.

Gold Coast battled on after losing Dale Copley to a head knock but costly errors – including failure to regather a quick Maloney drop-out and Jarrod Wallace kicking the ball out on the full – was a theme of their overall night.

Former Penrith back-rower Bryce Cartwright had a game to forget in his return to the ground with two errors, but his cousin Jed Cartwright, who was making his NRL debut for the Panthers, entered the field in the second half for a night out to remember.

The attack by both sides lacked polish for much of the second term before Edwards helped himself to a second try and To’o picked up Maloney’s kick and again launched himself into the corner to complete his double.

The Titans were down to one player on the bench in the last five minutes after losing Dale Copley (HIA), Ryley Jacks (rib cartilage) and Shannon Boyd (arm).
