What ever team Hook picks today will be different by game day. I think only once this year a team picked by him Tuesday hasn't changed by game day.

Early mail is from Tele

Panthers: Fullback Matt Moylan’s Origin exclusion means the Panthers will be at full strength except for Blues winger Josh Mansour.Waqa Blake is expected to move to the wing and Isaah Yeo to the centres while Chris Grevsmuhl is tipped to start.

Blake to the wing is probably the worst choice he could make.

Anyone will tell you that weakening one position to strengthen another is not a good move. Weakening one without strengthening the other is even worse.

I would go along with Yeo to the centres, though. We need to bolster our defence out wide. Peachey can go back to the bench. Perhaps Hardaker can play wing.

Surely Smith won't be in the 17... maybe a cover for an outside back to debut, or Akauola will be back.

What did you expect? I can't really see much wrong with that side.

The WILL SMITH IS DA SHITTEST PLAYA IN DA COMP brigade will be out in force again but at the end of the day, if he's been playing well for NSW Cup (which he has), he deserves a shot. Also gives us more flexibility if we have an injury/Wallace needs a break/Moylan moves to 6/Cartwright needs to move from 6 etc.

Sharks side looks a lot stronger than I thought it would. Will be a tough game.

Our defence is shit so he leaves the same defensive liabilities where they were and brings our worst defender onto the bench.

Sharks are going to annihilate that squad. Even with 5 rep players put they have a mich better squad then we do.

Sorry but he's had enough chances and never shown even a hint that he's a first grader.

I think it's a good team, I'd prefer a genuine 6, but it's apparent we won't have that till TMM gets back.

I like Merrin back at 13.

I don't get Smith?? I have no problem as a player, I just don't get why we have selected a back on the bench? I think that hurt us last week when we lost McKendry. Seems strange to me.

I like the selection of Will Smith as he can cover quite few positions. I wonder how many tries he has scored this season in ISP?

That's harsh, he was good the last 6 rounds of last season.

Playing ok against the likes of Newcastle means nothing imo. If he plays fullback and Moylan shifts to 6 it will be idiotic. Has all Moylan's weaknesses except lack of pace, in fact he's far worse than Matty under the highball

He was above average in 2 games against shit teams. Looked like maybe he could kick on... then he was the absolute worst he could possibly be to start the year off.

He has the highest error rate in the team... 6 errors in 3 games. Waqa Blake has that for the whole season. He also has the 4th highest missed tackle rate in the team but has less attempted tackles then the guys worse than him.

He's not a first grade player. He has proven that over 3 seasons in multiple positions. He's a terrific reserve grade player. But nothing more. Kinda like Pearce between clun and origin footy.

Anyone expect game day changes?

With smith in the side Hook will either do

A Smith to fullback Moylan to 5/8 Carty to back row.

B Smith to centre Peach to back row.

C Smith to 5/8 Carty to backrow.

or D Play Smith off the bench for 4 minutes.
