We’ve been dumb for the past 10 years. It’s f**king frustrating. I thought Hook would have coached the dumbness out of them by now. But nope. They’re still as dumb as ever.

I honestly believe that we will not win another game all year

Lawrie had a terrible game.
Gave away 4 repeat sets himself.
All his runs made minimal metres.

He is a repeat offender with poor discipline.. way to slow and underwhelming.

I don't think Hook gets a free pass at all.
He has a dumb squad but the lack of invention in our play - plus the fact that he has decided to p*ss off our only attacking weapon - tells me that he is a C list coach who looks good only in comparison with the D list coaches he replaced.
Remember how he was sold to us as an old-style disciplinarian? And yet we have an indisciplined rabble of a team better known for their off-field antics than anything they do on-field.
It's a shit-show.

It’s hard to disagree with this. I couldn’t see a Storm or Rorters or Panthers team ever play like we did or do the off field things 12 key players did. An example for mine is McCullogh who is tough and tackles everything but really has very limited options at dummy half. All we had tonight seemed to be the crash play.

I hate that one on one Steal rule. I think if at any time there is more than one player in the tackle you can’t steal. Just seems to be a bad look for mine

It’s a tort because most times the players are held
The refs allow this wrestle in the ruck
Tackles are complete but the men in the middle let it go on

We are the most frustrating team in the comp by a good country mile. It seems that they do not like possession of the ball. When are they going to wake up and learn how to play the fundamentals of catching and passing and tackling? Coaches cannot pass the ball to them, they have to learn to treasure the ball.

Bottom line for me is that we are a team with too many average players so that results in inconsistent performances. We have poor discipline, poor skills and can't defend our mistakes. I have no confidence against any team we play against due to the above.

How come other teams seem to find 110kg monsters that run like the wind and trample over people while we have 80kg players hoping they bulk up to 85kg?

The disciplinarian comment is fair given what we've witnessed - maybe why we are still going after Finucane. To me that's a statement about culture more than anything.

It's not the coach's fault he had to slap together a team as he did. Was always going to be tough although in the end we had a stronger version of our team than they did of theirs (the scary thing). If the players had made the necessary tackles and held the ball, we win that game with persisting at their line rather than panicking at the end.
4 times more missed tackle than them but we only lose by two tries.

Sloane will be a better player than Dufty from what I have seen.

I don’t think you seen our run-in. Lomax is out for a minimum of 2 more weeks according to Griffin & we’ve still go to play without 7 others. There’s a lot of also-fans like us that will probably over take us.

Dumb football team. We are about as good as the titans and may be our only win next week with dufty and lomax returning, can't see us winning anymore after that, though.

On a positive note at least we got to see more of sloan, the kid looks like he glides when he is in full stride.

That was the most ill disciplined and lifeless second half we have played all year.

Hunt and Sims clearly fatigued.

The Manly forward pack dominated us.

Little wonder we struggled coming off ou

We needed to hold the ball and run them around to tire them out.

For his second NRL game, Sloan was excellent.

Norman was mediocre in defence and attack.

We can’t blame Hook for poor ball security.

It was the perfect storm:

Dropped and stolen ball;

Six agains;

Poor defence.

It’s a wonder we didn’t cop a bigger hiding.

In reality it was a similar performance to our 2 wins against Canberra and the Warriors, except this time we played a better side.

Six agains are a blight on the game & are too subjective on a refs whim.

I like your optimism Mickey and hope you are right but I fear the worst. We are doomed to be 5 starting players down for each of the next two games plus Rava still suspended, Poasa likely suspended. We have a tough run home. We are consistently inconsistent, illdisciplined and mistake prone. Guts, sure, the boys have a real dig. I just don’t know where we find the wins

Titans
Raiders
Souths x 2
Penrith
Roosters
Cowboys

Both games against Titans and Raiders will be with depleted squads with our suspensions and tonight we barely beat a turboless manly with majority of our squad there besides Dufty

Souths we have no chance full strength

Penrith no chance

Roosters no chance

Cowboys we can barley beat

So that’s why I believe we will loose our remaining games

The second half was very hard to watch. You can't beat any NRL side when you miss 45 tackles. Ramsey with only 4 runs, 21 metres, young bloke is off the pace. This was the game we could have picked up 2 points. even without a few of the numbskulls. Not to be. Time to quote Dr Zachary Smith "Oh the pain"

For anyone that ever doubted it please watch the drop out in the second half collected by Norman.

Any good, courageous NRL player would have sucked it up and hit the ball up when they realised their nearest forward was a kilometer away. Instead he waited 10 seconds for the forward to make it to him, losing any momentum we could have had.

That he gets picked again this year is an insult to the jersey.
