Disappointing game, we need to start exploiting the one on one strip and get ourselves a pocket ref.

Left side torn apart today. I thought Naden would have it easy against Oldfield. But he has been very poor. I think he needs to shift to wing. Both our centres are average centres..but sadly we dont have better.

Egan is terrible. His service is slow and stepping out from dummy half to pass is gifting the defence time to shut us down.

The strip rule has to go. It adds nothing but 50/50 calls and momentum shifts for the wrong reasons.

Naden was quiet and some crappy calls but we didn’t turn up today.

Cleary has been tackled on the 5th far too often today. Puts a lot of pressure on Maloney, and our kicking game today has emphasised that.

Also, this role that Luai is playing is not working. He is far too frantic, and ruins more plays than he makes. I understand Ivan wanting him to play first grade, but I think he needs to be playing reserves to develop a more traditional 5/8 role.

Outside of the first 15mins, we've looked very ordinary today. Not completing after points is always a sign that we're not on, and we did it twice today.

Naden and Sauce were both well below where they have been. Martin was a bit off the pace too. Edwards was excellent, really safe, very involved.

Egan's service isn't slow. Our attack has no structure and plodders like RCG just kill momentum.

Was our 1st real test since the run started and failed it

Exactly.

Need Kikau to have a chance against the best teams. That said the defence out wide was pretty poor.

I think Raiders can win the comp potentially but it’s not realistic for us. We saw why today.

Raiders too good. Some real footballers in the team rather than athletes. Hodgson tore us a new 1. Exploited our poor ball security - appears we were out-coached by Ricky. RCG conceding the strip on the kick off return was the death knell.

Edwards very good, the rest of the back 5 all had poor moments. Hard to fault many of the others.

As far as the referees go, Maloney apparently said at halftime not to let poor calls be an excuse - so I'll not go there. Although if we have a poor record under Klein maybe we should be looking to have him at our preseason to sort out on the training field what we're apparently doing wrong, instead of on game days.

Raiders outplayed us. We just aren't that good yet.

Most of us marked this game as one to lose. Not too fussed.

Why is RCG copping it? I thought he had a decent crack today. Outside of being stripped under these ridiculous new rules where teams can put 3 or 4 in a tackle and drop off to strip it... where its really debateable if players have even dropped off when the strip occurs.

Our centres offered nothing. Winterstein offered nothing and a bench with only 2 forwards on it was terrible.

Our hooking options also look terrible against good teams. Our left edge was destroyed so easily. Nothing on and Raiders somehow strolled through many times. A full left edge was arguably weaker than our right edge when Whare was binned.

That said we won 7 in a row. We couldn't keep it up forever. Raiders were easily the best side we faced in months. We lose no positions on the ladder. If we react the right way next week we can keep our top 8 chances high for the run home. How we respond next week is more important. A loss kills everything we did to get back imo.
