Well Uate probably won't be back for a few weeks so presumably Sione will get a run. Dane has had two woeful performances in a row now. Maybe we should put him on the wing for a bit until he learns to tackle 1:1

End of the day we were clearly outclassed and destroyed in the forwards - couldnt build anything on the back of that.

Made worse by a shit load of errors and penalties.

It's going to be a long time before we see any improvement. I think we will improve - I think Brown has the right idea - but it's going to take a hell of a lot of time and effort. Unfortunately we don't have the luxury of fixing things by just throwing money at established stars to get us out of it.

We simply don't have the cattle, and never will under the current "cap" rules.

Welp, I'm going to go and drink.

- Mullen was easily our best. Outstanding in defense stopping both Inglis and Burgess by himself. In attack his fifth tackle options weren't always the best but the two repeat sets were great. He doesn't have the same speed as he used to but give him enough room and he'll put people into space.

- Saifiti twins were excellent in attack. For nineteen year olds playing their second game of first grade they were outstanding. Jacob has a bit to go defensively on the edge, I think he was part of the problem our right edge had throughout the game. But I won't fault him, Gagai and Uate have enough games under their belt to know how to shut down backline plays. One of them has to be dropped next week.

- Feeney needs to learn in NSW Cup. Take Gagai out of the line and put him at the back. I think the kid is still a good prospect in the position but learning from scratch in first grade isn't going to help.

- I liked our effort for the most part in the final 20. Some really nice carries up the middle. The effort was there, Badger f**king us over made me want to punch the TV, couldn't catch a break with the Levi and Korbin tries.

Overall, poor handling and the same people making the same defensive errors they've been making for three and four years cost us the game. Frustrating, tiring but eh, not sure why I expected anything different. I hope Brown fires up and rips into a few of them. That right edge can't remain the same next week. There's something positive in this team. What it is, I don't know.

Probably. Bulldogs will dump Williams and another decently paid player to sign them. Roosters will release Moa, Taukeiaho and someone else to sign them. All while we also lose Rochow and Sims. Wonderful position we're in.

Dogs would only have to lose Williams...

Well, I expected a bit of a touch up from Souths but the most worrying and seemingly unfixable aspect of this team/club is the defensive problems. Constantly short on both sides the moment an opposition player if tackled in the middle. I have absolutely no idea how there can consistently be 2 and 3 man overlaps most of the time the opposition go to their edge. Simple catch and pass was enough to get outside our defensive line numerous times.

Mate, I understand your frustrations and I even share them

But it's time to change the record bro

I'm not going to stop acknowledging reality.

And honestly, I am really scared for the future of this club.

I actually met with M Gids a few weeks ago to offer some help with strategic planning, including TPAs and a bit of outside the square stuff.

He was super keen on what I was proposing and apparently the board are too, but I just can't see us as a club fixing the major issues we face, as they are external - and no amount of management expertise or coaching nous can out-flank such an institutionalised disadvantage.

We can only keep trying.
