All good points. However a complete change in style won’t gel for a while. That’s why the boys look lost, they still haven’t worked out their combinations, they are not comfortable yet. It’s going to be ugly until they gel, get comfortable, and get confidence in each other.

I think you’re right about fitness. I think Sebs may have been way less strict in the off season to try and ease some of the over training issues. I think that has shown in the first 2 rounds and should improve with game time. It’s a long season and I’d rather peak in September and not March. If you look at 2012/13 we where super fit smashed it in the first 3 months, but peaked early. 2014 we only won 3 from the first 7 rounds, but came home like a train.

I also think you’re right about this being a long season R20, longer than I thought. I’ll admit the reason I haven’t been on LU much lately is that I’m super disappointed and super pissed. But I’m resigned to watching the games with the old sense of dread for a while, but hopefully once it clicks it’ll become more fun. Glory, Glory!!
Well DKOR was right and for the most part I've agreed with him!

I should be heading out there next Saturday to give my support! Through good and bad!

Moving the ball sideline to sideline and hoping isn't really a plan though. Sorry mate!

Then we go into our shell! Poor coaching!

When Murray went off we struggled more in the middle. He was off 25-30 mins too long!

Agree, but I don’t think that’s the plan, it’s like 17 dogs have been let off the leash at once, they’re trying too hard, running wild. At this stage it’s not poor coaching by the trainer, it’s poor execution by the dogs. But if the trainer can’t get them hunting in a pack without their leashes, then that becomes poor coaching. Time will tell.

Well the leashes must be taken away and if we don't hunt against Manly we will get our pants pulled down. FACT

Early days.
I’m heading more towards @callmack1 ’s outlook now. It’s a work in progress and that progress is improving. The disappointment and anger is still there, but hopefully it has the right perspective to deal with it.

What Peter Gentle one of our assistant coaches said on the Souths website was alarming!

He said that the Penrith tries were quite lucky he thought.

I'd say they were skill and us not defending well!

If you tell the boys we were unlucky with those tries it's not drumming into them what they have to do!

My old man has gone for Souths for 46 years @Itsamansgame and he thinks Seibs isn't hard enough on them and that he's taking the do gooder approach! He like DKOR thinks we needed an experienced coach.

He was saying how well the twins played in his PC which means they'll think it's ok to drop the ball and kill all momentum!

I don't see the passion in Seibs either! It all seems flat! He doesn't seem to have the passion for us that Madge did!

After the Tigers win vs Storm, Fox asked Benji what Cleary had done to turn the Tigers around. Benji said Cleary told them the Tigers had a losing culture and to fix it he made them play games against each other in the offseason and the players in the losing team got punished

So an NRL coach does need to be hard on his players. All the talk that Maguire was too hard on the players is rubbish. All the signs are that Seibs is way too soft

Good morning fellas, have just woken, myself and my clan of male family members decided to stay the night at Panthers to drown our sorrows.
So very f**king sad with the Penrith supporters, parents were encouraging their kids to boo also and of course there was the array of Black C..t comments as well:
But fellas whilst back at the club we spotted a few of the arse holes involved and we politely asked to sit at their table to discuss their problems with GI,they shit themselves and ran off to security.
The only problem was the security were big burly islanders and when we told them they had a problem with GI's skin colour, well we never spotted them again....lol.
GO THE MIGHTY RABBITOHS!!!

Momentum in a tight match is the key and when the ref (not mentioning his name because he's piss poor at his job) gave a penalty from the kickoff, when the ball actually touched grass in the in goal and should have been a line drop out with souths on the attack, this was the turning point we never recovered! A few points to make, George Burgess is hitting the line at speed, Murray is a superstar, Douehi kicking game last night was better than Reynolds, who said Kennar was a dud! Crichton is not worth the money Rorters paid for him, Inglis was running harder unfortunate he went off, cook ok had his moments, Johnston better than the week before, tom ok sam did his usual, a few silly mistakes. A game with some luck we could have won, I see some negative comments re the coaching staff from yes the sook! I think they're doing a good job! Looking fwd to next week. How did turner pull up in the Bears game?

Pretty devastated to lose that game in the dying moments but imo it was purely due to fatigue after backing up from Perth. I thought this week was a massive improvement on the last.

I’m a big fan of this new look Souths side. We have strike power all over the park, but it’s just about putting in the full 80 minute performance.

I don’t know who it was that said Seibold was soft but that’s absolute bullshit. Seibold supposedly trains the players just as hard as Madge did but puts priority on building relationships with the players.

You can’t really point fingers at individual players as well. Even Murray who I thought was superb threw a stupid offload to George. I’d still be keeping the team the same as before. One player that I’d be looking to bring in when they’re fit though is Turner. Crichton’s defence in the second row is just not 80 minute material. Use Crichton like the cowboys use Hess and bring him on just to run the ball.

Couldn't agree more mate, great post.

Tbh, I think they were lucky and they scored and broke us down due to our fatigue.

Yes, this was a poor call. Funny though that you didn't mention the play the ball penalty against Kikau just a few minutes later, though. There were a lot of poor calls in this game, and they went both ways. Time to drop this bloke and give Mrs Badger a go.

The Rabbitohs played very well in the first half and remained competitive for much of the second but couldn't match the Panthers as the game entered its latter stages. Maybe this is due to travelling, or maybe it is due to the home side being used to the local conditions after training in similar conditions all summer.

AJ: was solid! Not good defensively though. Doesn't have a passing game!
Kennar: best back we had! Where's Rsag gone??
Gagai: A mixed bag!
GI: I thought he was good until he went off.
Jennings: Good apart from dodgy under the high ball.
Cody: Went missing too much for my liking! He didn't take control of things like he said he would! He must be better! Not good enough!
Doueihi: A mixed bag! Tried very hard. Can't expect much more!
Tom: A mixed bag.
Cook: Was good but not as good in second half. Discipline was an issue.
Sam: Was strong but discipline was an issue!
Crichton: Discipline was an issue and I question whether his heart is there.
Sutton: I thought he was quite strong without doing too much.
Murray: Was immense. Only criticism was that silly pass with 6 minutes to go.

Fuimaono: Got caught out at centre due to some lack of pace! He did try very hard though and make a try saver or 2.
Nicholls: Quiet hit much game time.
Tatola: Did his job.
George: A mixed bag

The lack of fitness is very concerning! I think if AR is there we win!
Discipline is a problem!

It's gonna be a long season!

Maybe we tired as well due to the Perth trip!

Refereeing didn't do is any favours once again..
Fuis lack of pace came from the fact he dislocated his bug left toe in his first carry after coming on!mri scans on monday will determine how bad it is,as he reset it himself,on the field, and had to play the final 30mins.just letting you know, there was a reason for the 1bad read in defence.
