Round 2 v Bulldogs

I thought Wallace's service was pretty sloppy to be honest, but he's about the best we can hope fore at the moment.

We need Moylan back.

Look, I'm not saying it was perfect but it was what gave our forwards the platform to bend the Bulldogs line. Segeyaro doesn't know when to just play football and get momentum.

Up until the last 8 minutes we looked like winning it. Then we got all hot under the collar and blew it. We lost our two centres and it was over.

Big shout out to Yeo for his efforts.

I thought Wallace was fine when we were getting play rolling and having a dummy half kicking option was nice but we really missed Segs when we were in their half. Wallace added less than nothing in that respect.

We were probably the better team but it doesn't mean anything when we don't offer anything in their 20.

Wallace is ok at hooker. Not really likely to be anyone better. Lots of positives but no movement on the most major problem, we could have won it but still we'd be going nowhere with this attack. We are a one man band and he's out injured. Cartwright is the only one I'd point a finger at tonight, and I'd still back him before anyone else to create us points.

Losing Whare used a forward interchange up and that really told in the end. Blake was struggling and they scored down that side.

Great effort all round by the team. McKendry made me eat my words. Just shows that he can do it, if he can be bothered.

My assessment after two games is that we have the forward pack to go all the way. It matched the Dogs and the Raiders. We won't lose because we can't make good metres. But we can't score. But we have no guile in the halves. We desperately need a half with more than just a kicking game. Moylan will help, but we desperately need a ball playing half. At the moment we have only one ball player in the team and that's Cartwright.

Wallace did nothing too bad. Segeyaro can be rocks and diamonds. Wallace was playing straight and direct, which is what we need.

Anyone but Smith, aye?
Go back and read my comments on the changes pregame. I thought it was stupid to risk an injured player and it backfired.

We wait 10 days for our next game and hes likely 100% again. Instead we play him injured and it left us rooted at the end of the game

That's the second week we've basically played one man short because of mishandling interchanges. Why select Akauola if you don't have any confidence in him. Last week he did the same with JFH.

I thought everyone played pretty well. Props were fantastic. Loved the fire from RCG and Matagi. Wallace went decent. Hiku ripped in. Mansour very good. Sowards kicking game was on point pretty much all night. We just didn't have those one or two great plays we needed.

Missing Moylan badly in attack as usual. I'm not sure what the point of playing Akauola was when he played like 10 mins. Chuck Peachey there and give us Martin and we probably win that game.

We just need to clean house in strength and conditioning. It has to happen. How the hell do we have Moylan, Gennings, Whare, Blake, Segeyaro, Katoa, Latu all out already. It's obnoxious.

Griffin needs to make some bold calls next week. We aren't going to win many games unless he takes a chance on some of the young talent. I think our pack is solid, we've been right in both games which is positive but outside of a Soward kick or Cartwright miracle we have no creativity.

DWZ, Mansour, Hiku, Smith, Rennings, Martin, Soward, RCG, Wallace, Mckendry, Cartwright, Taylor, Merrin, Peachey, Matagi, Latimore, Yeo

Cartwright was a little disappointing for mine.

I will digest the game and break it down tomorrow. I swear penrith is the team that's afraid to give away penalties for ruck infringements and seem to attract them regardless. All the while teams like the dogs will happily push the envelope knowing they won't be pinged all game for it, if at all.

And Cartwright should be 6 before Peachey. He's looked good there, very good everytime he has played, he's our most likely with the ball in hand and is a better ball player and kicker than Peach. The only thing he's down on Peach with is speed. They're picking on body shape rather than results. Peach hasn't done anything in the 6 to suggest we persist with him there.

The coach lost us this game. Our blokes did the best they could. But bringing in Whare early left us reshuffling an already shuffled backline and an interchange down. So we had no options when Blake also got injured.

Seriously should have just ran out the team named and given Whare an extra 10 days. How many more games will he miss now? Hopefully none. But we would have been better off with a fully fit backline in the positions we trained in all week.

Im happy with all players tonight. Under the circumstances there wasn't much room for improvement IMO. An error here or there could have made a bit of difference. But none moreso then covering injured players.

MX its not Griffin's job to rate players fitness. He gets told who's ready to go and picks a side. Ronnie and the doctors need to be fired tomorrow at 9am. Who gives a f**k what te payouts wii cost

A player is usually the one who has the biggest influence on whether they can play but if Whare stays on the field (Not injured) we win.

Why's that? Whare's been injured for a month and only ran for the first time on Tuesday. Anyone could predict what was going to happen. MX wrote it pregame.

I agree it was a poor decision.

So, hypothetically if Whare and Blake are out...who's in?

I would think will smith would play centre and maybe yeo? Hardly an inspiring centre combo but we're already running out of options

How Reynold was not penalised for holding DWZ out of play when the dogs scored their first has got me f**ked. 2 on field refs, 2 touchies and the bunker all missed that shit. It was the difference in the end
