Weather looks good for Saturday, we will see a different team running around, albeit the same starting squad less Egan...

I don't see a reason for panic stations..

I think the concern around our round 1 is it was home game, against a side who theoretically we were expected to beat and should beat and they are the sort of games you need to win if you are a serious footy side competing for the top four.

Yep this. Throw in them having more injuries. Us being more experienced it is a game we should of won.

Fell behind 14-0 again. Lost a penalty count again... So for me it was just like last year too

You want to drop Leota and Whare? They were far from our worst.

I don't think Ivan will drop anyone. If Katoa is back he'll be the 9 and Luai to drop down the list.

Yes I do, Whare has past his best, Leota I don’t rate as highly as some on here
His lack of quality minutes in particular as well as meterage

Perhaps, but you don't go into a season with players and just drop them on one game.

Starting Front Rowers- Leota 43 minutes, 8 runs, 66 metres, Tamou 60 minutes, 14 runs, 133 metres
Centres, Whare - 8 runs - 57 metres, Blake - 11 runs, 115 metres
We need more out of a starting front rower in my opinion, 60 minutes minimum and 100 plus metres

Starters should be ave 100m a gain but as a team we struggled to make metres

According to Fox stats (different to NRL stats) The Panthers ran for just 1046 metres, just the fourth time since 2014 that they have been held to less than 1100 metres.

I don't understand why you would drop someone based on how many minutes he is getting. Not much he can do about how the coach wants to utilise him.

Runs (9%) and run metres (12%) both sides are down from NRL numbers by similar amounts. It's the same in the only other game I checked (Knights/Sharks). Clearly different methodology is used. The long and the short of it is that you aren't going to dominate too many games with 40% of possession.

That Flegg side is extremely strong.

Surely Crichton, Blore and Leniu in particular don't stay in Flegg that long.

They should be pushed into Reserves as soon as possible. All three have the potential to play NRL this year.

Tyrell Fuimaono has been ruled out with an ankle injury, handing new recruit Frank Winterstein the chance to make his Panthers debut from the bench.

Hame Sele has been named after being cleared of a broken arm while Sione Katoa returns as starting hooker after successfully completing the concussion protocol.

Very harsh on Leota. During his first stint, we didn't have the ball.
First stint was: 23 mins, 1 run for 6m
Second stint: 20mins, 7 runs for 60m

He also recovered loose offloads from Parra on at least two occasions, didn't make any errors, and his average play the ball speed was less than 3 seconds.

Ivan doesn't rush kids in. It will take a heap of injuries to get them in

As a starter though I’d expect what Tamou delivered, 60 minutes, 133 metres, 50 plus tackles, Leota is not a starter, I personally would run with Tamou and Fisher-Harris as starting front rower with Sele/Martin to share the lock roll
