Round 2 vs Souths

We can win this. We made 15 errors last week and were up against a huge forward pack and still put in a reasonable performance. Made 1450 mtrs and 36 tackle breaks to the Cows 26, made 70 tackles more than the Cows but missed 10 less than them. 8 of our players made over 100mtrs with 151 made by new winger Ravalawa ( 59 post contact and 10 tackle breaks ) who you'd think will improve and hopefully drop less ball once he settles down. And most importantly we have some handy attacking players who we know are capable of much better. We've got a pretty good side despite everything, not perfect but you can't have everything you want.

Cows have a much bigger and mobile pack than souffs, and I thought we handled there middles well. Souffs will be a little tired from chooks game

Someone should write a song called Bloody Mary.

For anyone who doesn't know where I am coming from, there was a song called Bloody Jeff, about Jeff Kennett.

Does our last performance at Kogarah count for anything? It was last season now but they should be aiming right up after that flogging from the dogs there.
Good to see Kerr get on the bench.
Lomax should be >Aitken at centre.
Will be interesting to see how they go missing some big guns in Friz, KS and JDB.

Here is the Bloody Jeff song. Replace the word Jeff with Mary and it is like our forum talking about Mary. Jeff Kennett is to blame for everything.

The reality is despite the stats you posted we scored a very lucky try in the 1st half and a consolation try with 2 minutes on the clock.
When we actually had position and impetus we came up with zilch.
Unless coach can understand tempo and find some spontaneity instead of being steadfast and doing things by the clock we will get hammered.

I’m one eyed maybe... but I predict a win!

The young guys in the pack will want to prove themselves. k sims back next week means that Kerr needs to force his way into the round3 team. Lawrie needs to perform to keep the 13.Lats knows that if others outperform him he may be dropped.Hosty knows the spot can be his if he performs now etc.

If we can start strong, and contain cook, then we can tear up a tiring rabbits.
And don’t forget the that McInnes is playing against his old club too

I am not writing us off this Thursday night at Kogarah.
We are playing at home and its the perfect opportunity for the young forwards to stand up and be counted.
The spine will have to be much much better to even compete.
The 5 hit ups then kick down the throat of the opposition fullback, while highly entertaining, doesn't seem to bother teams like Souths.
If I was to have a bet I'd be taking Souths 13+ but I wouldn't be completely surprised if we beat them.

I'm all for optimism Crush but let's be clinical and analytical about this- SGI are weaker (no Frizz) and Souths are stronger (Inglis and Reynolds) than the Charity Shield where they put seven tries on us. . Even allowing for a home crowd lift, the Dragons are looking at a thrashing.

Charity Shield means nothing. We were playing fatigued and it was a trial.
I'm not saying we will win but definitely think we can.
It's only round 2, I haven't written us off yet.

Lomax lacks maturity and has a lot to work on before he's up to the NRL.

Inconvenient news for many on here.
