St George Illawarra coach Anthony Griffin has named his mandatory 21-man squad ahead of the Dragons' Round 20 clash against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Browne Park, Rockhampton on Saturday, July 31 (3pm).
Jack Bird, Jack de Belin, Blake Lawrie and Josh McGuire's one-game suspensions will be accounted for this weekend following their role in the Shellharbour incident in early-July.

Poasa Faamausili, Billy Burns, Jaiyden Hunt, Kaide Ellis and Jackson Ford are the new faces in the team as a result. Jamayne Taunoa-Brown has also returned to the Warriors prematurely given their recent injury toll.
Matt Dufty and Cody Ramsey have been replaced in the 17 by Tyrone Sloan and Corey Norman respectively. Talatau Amone has been named in the centres with Gerard Beale shifting to the wing at the expense of Jordan Pereira.
Zac Lomax and Daniel Alvaro remain unavailable as they continue their individual quarantine.
Tariq Sims will celebrate his 200th NRL game when he runs out for Rockhampton's maiden opportunity to host an NRL fixture.

Getsmarty we really don’t have any size in the forwards do we. Not since when coach made sure we had size, mobility and mongrel. Those were the days.

That’s what the NRL wanted and they are getting it with buckets of shit, total embarrassment. And they are loving what is going on at the Dragons.

Amazed that we could even name 21 tbh. This is the best we could hope for given the circumstances. Whilst in my head I know we will cope a hiding, but miracles do happen and that's from the heart. The Rabbits are not unbeatable by any stretch of the imagination.
The young blokes getting a run against one of the competition heavyweights, will not only give them the valuable experience, but also the knowledge of what it takes to be a first grader.

South’s would likely beat us by 50 regardless. Good to see Sloan at 1 and Sullivan at 6, happy to Amone given game time. Rather Amone than Burns in the centres, let’s see how he goes in the back row. Might have been worth giving Ford a run in the centres but stocks are very thin post bbq gate, and we have 2 or 3 slots still to fill before August 2nd from memory

Norman at Centre....wow. The guy lets in more tries than anyone I have seen so lets make him an even easier target. Hook really loves this guy and will find him any spot to get a run in first grade. How sad is that.

I would like Hunt at 9 and Sullivan/Amone in the halves with Sloan as fullback. That would be awesome and the spine of the future for Saints. I would play that spine all year to prepare them for 2022. Forget this season.

I thought Amone looked ok at centre earlier, I think that could be his spot next year.
Bird has been playing like a busted ass , so many errors, looks cooked, happy for him to have a spell
For the rest of the year , keep the youngsters and add in lomax, Rava n the suspended pigs and we may surprise a few teams.

If there is a silver lining here it is that Hook is getting a good look at some the 2022 squad in different positions and how they cope. This year is a goner so better to trial and prepare players in real games. If we Jag a win all the better.

My only query was Norman at centre with Williame on the reserve list but George has shed some light on his situation.

We really cannot ask for much more.

It's likely to be a large defeat but I just hope they are allowed to play with freedom.

Souffs have a habit of late of relaxing once they get a couple of tries ahead.

If we lose 40 to 24 and score some skilful tries orchestrated by our juniors then I'll be ok with it, for this week.

Then game on next week once we are almost back to full strength...

All I want is the coach to make smart decisions and the players do their best.
This week Hook has given us every chance vs Raiders and at the same time shown guys like Dufty that what he dished up is unacceptable and won’t be tolerated.
We will suffer a heavy loss this week but hopefully there are some glimpses of brilliance from guys like Sloan, Fegai, Sullivan and then next week when the senior players come back we have a real crack at Raiders.
