Merrin is very necessary. Yeah he had a quiet couple of games but he is very important to our club.

His last good patch of form was 2016.

Flashes of it since. But this is not a short term form slump.

If Hook was fair dinkum he would drop him altogether rather than just benching him. Obviously he doesnt have the balls to do it. But his form warrants it.

It’s absolute bullshit when people say we only won because we threw the game plan out the window in the last 10 minutes.

We legitimately attacked the exact same points of the field in the last 10 as we did the previous 70. Difference is, for whatever reason our intensity lifted enormously, we actually executed our plays & Maloney/Cleary played at the defensive line with speed rather than 5m away from it.

Tell that to Gus. He basically said the same thing crediting the players talent and not the game plan.

But credit to those who think what failed for 70 minutes suddenly worked so well we scored 4 tries in 7 minutes.

Worthless is a more accurate description.

He was our worst forward followed closely by Tamou. Yeo is the leader of this pack. Manly destroyed us through the middle because of how soft these guys make us. RCG lifted our pack with his intensity. Since he has been gone these guys have failed to do that. I hoped it would spark them to fire up and fill the void. But they haven't.

For whatever reason the Mansour try came with some self belief and confidence. It allowed the win.
