I'm very surprised to see you defend Peach till the death but put the boot into Browne for absolutely nothing.....
No missing 5 tackles (3 more than Peachey) and standing in the line to concede a penalty rather than us getting a try.... that's nothing.

But he made up for all that by making a quarter of the metres Peachey did...

DWZ, Edwards, Blake and Peachey have all had more impact than Mansour since he came back.

179m gained yesterday. Ave 160m a game is hardly terrible... Imagine if he got the ball a few times attacking the line. Peachey's strength is running and he does it well but instead of 1st instinct being to take on the inside guys. A simple straigten up draw and pass is often the better option

He said i stuck the boot into Browne for nothing while defending Peachey... as if Peachey was worse.

Giving away a penalty while we were scoring a try by standing in the defensive line
Missing 5 tackles (making 17... thats terrible for a prop)
Making a pissy 54m gained

Thats hardly sticking the boot into him for nothing. Peacheys average game shit on him.

Who said he was terrible?
None of our backs are terrible... except DWZ last week. Otherwise our backs have been better than our forwards for most the season.

Our backline carries our forward pack. Tamou the thief made a whopping 80 metres yesterday. Throw in piss poor 54m from Browne and even worse 33m from Leota. What sort of front rowers regularly contribute so little?

Cleary gets a lot of wraps. Moses gets bagged a lot.
Moses is 3 yrs older but is so far ahead of Cleary at this stage. So much more composed. Reads the game better.
Some of Clearys choices yesterday on the last was borderline disgrace. People talk about him for origin. I mean seriously? The kid looks the goods but is very inconsistent. Surely you all can see that?

Moses has just started looking good now that he has moved to the Eels. Before that he was a complete liability. Cleary still has some development to go but is good and consistent with a few errors in judgment.

Browne played 31mins. Peachey played 80mins.

Browne did miss 5 tackles. Made 12 tackle % of 70.59%
Peachey missed 2. Made 5. Tackle % of 71%

Both similar there. The standing in the line how do we know he knew we were coming back. We were a shambles on the last

I am by no means a Browne fan but you need to compare him to props on time on the field alone

Without access to the inner working of the team it is hard to be critical.

Browne has been given a job to do by the coach and he seems to be doing it (is why he gets picked each week). Maybe his job is to take the impact of the opening minutes of the game then hand over the metres to the interchange bench. Metres are probably harder to get at the start of the game when both packs are trying to size each other up. Like an opening batsmen in cricket who generally has a lower average but a big impact on the innings??

just a theory.....

RCG has said he was getting too tired early. Whereas off the bench he can go for longer. I presume coaching staff would rather him get more minutes then say Browne. So they start him.

Personally I think starting props should make 100m but it is weird here RCG does the starting prop job

This was always expected. His hit ups are still good but he's getting stepped in defence.

9/10 times he is outside his winger and we don't go to him. Not all Peachey's doing but it is a waste that close to the line they won't stop him

It is a good use of a player like him.

All the forwards were down on metres this week. It was the opposite in the backs (huge numbers).

Obviously a tactic this week to keep it close to the ruck with more mobile runners. Blake and Peachey seemed to have a lot of hit ups. I saw a few backs go to run wide of the ruck then step back into it??

Griffin obviously thought that they were too slow around the ruck defensively. We seemed to make easy metres in close.

DWZ > Mansour on form.

This week. Certainly not last week.

Moses is 3 yrs older but is so far ahead of Cleary at this stage. So much more composed. Reads the game better.

Moses had a patch of good form this time last year and is having another one now. In form he's a very good player albeit with some deficencies. But outside those patches of good form, you wouldn't feed him, as Parra will find out in due course.

Peachey is a good player. Peachey is not a centre. Browne is an average player. He is at best a benchy. Mansour is our best in contact still, which is all he has ever been exceptional at.

Bloody Adrian Purtell and Will Smith couldnt be any worse than that performance.

His defence or lack thereof is a little concerning. I've certainly noticed his line speed has been very poor which leaves him flat footed more often than not. I'd like to see him just trust his inside man and allow the opposition to press toward the sideline as opposed to just waiting for them to come to him.

Peachey is a great footballer. Is he a centre, no. Is he better than a fit and firing Whare....No. However, given whare has been a little rough of late and lacking game time where he is producing quality then peachey can stay at centre. If Whare has to come back in he deserves the bench spot over Katoa and Co. As we know he can be very damaging at the back end of halves and is too good to leave out.

I get that a lot of people dont rate Browne but I must be seeing things a little differently. I find he attracts two/three defenders and solidifies the middle of the park. We used to have McKendry for this but hes not on the park. The need to carry big bodies into the finals will see him retain his spot. He can certainly look pedestrian in his running and carry speed but he is strong and shows good line speed in defence. He is making plenty of tackles and missing nearly none in the short time he is on the field. I think he averages 33-40 minutes but is making over 100m, 20-30 tackles with little to no errors or missed tackles. If we talk about effectiveness on the field I think he adds value.

I don't think we were given a fair go in the ruck this week. They did everything to slow the ruck and it worked. Come the finals we know the Roosters, Cows, Sharks and Storm will all get away with slowing the ruck down so we need to get better at moving them around the park which I feel we did well yesterday. I'd like to see more 4th tackle kicks. Turn the defence around and just play with some patience.

Hopefully we wont just be making the numbers and actually give the finals a shake.
