See, absolute statements like this are every bit as wrong as "the refs are always out to get us".

There is a problem with NRL refereeing. Sometimes the problems work in our favour, sometimes they work against us, sometimes they go both ways. Sometimes we play well enough to overcome them. Sometimes we're outclassed to a degree that makes it irrelevant. Sometimes the game is close enough and the call is bad enough that it is the difference between a win or a loss.

It's pretty rare for the refs to decide a game. There may be bad calls but you'll get maybe 3 or 4 games at most a year that you could say are genuinely decided by them yet every game we here about it before the game even starts.

I think it is fair to say the match official’s be they on field or in the bunker are having more say in the outcome of games than at any time of my fifty years watching the game.

The inconsistencies from game to game, lead ref making different interpretations to the pocket ref, ridiculous decisions around putting players in the sin bin, frankly the game is in a mess right now and that is before you even mention the match review committee or judiciary.

It only appears that way due to extra scrutiny with cthe media and all the extra camera work.

Have a first half like we did last week and we should be good, broncos don’t have a comeback in them and the sharks record against us played into their hands with 2nd half momentum.

Nullify their pack and we should win....

And if Nathan can have another blinder that would be sweet...

The officiating at all levels is awful and I blame the game’s administrators for the way the game is being run.

I recognise the job of a referee in the NRL is one of the most difficult and demanding jobs imaginable and having to make decisions at the speed the game is played at is an almost impossible task.

At the same time the game if suffering and lurching from one disaster to another on a week to week basis and the frustration of all fans is at an all time high.

Ignoring the problem is a recipe for further disaster and the game’s administrators have to take action in the up coming off season to address the major areas where the game is suffering, most of which are obvious.

I'm sorry but you are wrong and have fallen for the crises merchant media's spin.

You need to take the blinkers off.

This week alone, without going anywhere near the previous 20 rounds, just to highlight a few of the ridiculous decisions we witnessed;

The incorrect sin bin of Chris Smith of the Bulldogs late in the game allowed the Tigers the opportunity to tie up the game but for the Tigers goalkicker missing very kickable conversation

The incorrect sin bin of Adam Blair of the Warriors allowed the Sea Eagles back into the contest prior to which they were 18-0 down.

Our own game v the Sharks a blatant forward pass which was not called despite the pocket ref and linesman being right in line from which the Sharks scored a tackle later.

Perhaps the worst of all being the Match Review Committee seeing nothing wrong with the Nelson Asofa Solomona crusher / dangerous tackle in the Storm v Raiders game.

They are but a few, nothing to do with media spin just examples of what a mess the game is in at present and it’s happening each and every week.

Adam Blair deliberately did that and deserved the bin. Perfect example of the media swaying people.

Did what, where was he supposed to go. Nothing to do with the media, my opinion on the matter was based on what I saw watching the game. If that is the what we are going to use as a benchmark for a defender impeding an attacking player chasing through a kick well you can expect to see players being put in the bin each and every match. It is common sense and clearly that is something current in short supply amongst our games administrators and match officials.

I have the footage on the pc. He runs to the line of the Manly chaser than sharply stops and pushes back into the player. That's not an accident. The "he can't disappear" defence doesn't work here.

We’ll agree to disagree on this one.

The Garner binning was dubious at absolute best as well.

I didn’t use this to support my argument because it is more likely to have a higher % of fans who may support the sin binning although again when looking at it in real speed I agree it was marginal.

I'd rather prove I'm right.

He clearly impedes the defender deliberately. He even puts he shoulder into it!

How far was Blair from the ball? Is he meant to keep running for it even though the ball is getting picked up by an outside back?

All those binnings are proof of refs losing feel for the game and the comp overreacting so passes the word down

These things should be played at normal speed. Then can see if a dog shot or not

He does NOT go backwards, he never stops going forward. He does slow up, but that is his right. If the player chooses to run into his back, what does he expect???

Nonsense. Blair ran a long way to impede him.

He very clearly pushes off his right foot and puts his left shoulder into the Manly player.
