The only thing confusing me is how someone can get up after being tackled, face the marker and step 2 metres to the side and play the ball and get a penalty for markers not standing square. It just shows how completely and utterly useless the referee's are. They either do not know the rules, are blind or cheats. In no other line of work could somebody be so bad and keep their job.
Looks more spectacular but seriously that is a nothing hit. Luke appears to put his arms out almost to try and charge down the coming kick and then they just collide.
Does nobody at the NRL understand the word discretion? Having a black and white rule like this was always going to lead to nothing incidents being massively over penalised.
Also, they could seriously challenge that on the technicality that it's not a 'charge' at all. He was side on and braced for impact and made no charge. I remember Ruben Wiki got away with something similar when he was charged with dropping the knees and he successfully argued that he lead with his knees, not 'dropped' them.
