The only time the halves "combo" worked with the backline like a f**king normal team was when Cartwright got into first receiver (or second) and passed it on and one other time when one of the other forwards sort of shovelled it on. That's why on occasion, after the 30min mark, it looked like something was finally working. Nothing to do with having May over Moylan.

I was wrong there was one other time we spread it left while Cartwright was off that worked, Cleary to May to Edwards. It was Tamou that shovelled the ball on that one time.

The pass from Cartwright around the back of the play that Blake put down should have been a try, seemed like Cartwright got rid of it as soon as he caught it because CHN barged into a defender and it would have been obstruction.

Any idea why Moylan isn't named as 6 and is named as a reserve? I would have thought if he was guaranteed to play that he'd be back at 6 in the starting line up?

Basically because we have beaten the Tigers and Dogs without him, so they reckon we don't need him any more.
Did those idiots not see how much we beat those teams by earlier in the season? Neither team even scored a try against us in their first encounters.

We struggled to beat both teams without him though.

May is class has done a great job in Moylan's absence.
Hopefully will be kept in the 17 in Moylan's return.

The impression I get is that he's not guaranteed to play.

Fans are fickle. They demand loyalty from players but don't show any in return.

Moylan has proven time and time again how valuable he is to our success.

We beat 2 bottom feeder teams without him and now we don't need him !!!

If Moylan played last week we win by 30.

Moylan has played Semi Final Footy, State of Origin, and toured with the kangaroos. Look at our run into the finals. We need him more than ever. Obviously why the coach is taking no risks with his return.

There is a constant theme in sports in general but especially league that the next guy coming through is always better, fans get super excited by talented young prospects etc and they go all in and then if the kids don't immediately start killing they write them off, if they do kill it they expect they will just continue progressing at the same rate and get better every year. I got called naive for thinking that it's a not sure thing that TMM will be better than Moylan because TMM is "way more dominant than Moylan at the age", that's just dumb for many reasons. The first one being even with out JT te Marie is still very much a passenger for the cows, Morgan, Granville and Coote run the show. Secondly assuming a player will progress in a straight line is dumb as f**k, it doesn't happen.

At 18 Dallin was playing fg and looked like a very good prospect, Edwards at 18 would of got killed out there but now Edwards has completely jumped Dallin in the pecking order and for all we know it could change again. When u talk about halves many of them play their best footy after 30, the great ones anyway spots even harder to predict.

It was like what I said in another thread about Edwards. The things people are saying about him other's said about Coote and Moylan. They go well then injury or we find flaws that aren't shown early on.

I think Moylan has many flaws as a half but time should fix them. May is 4 games in so can fly under the radar. He needs to establish himself as a FGer 1st.

He has been good at 5/8th but off the bench we may find he is better at centre or hooker.

As for Katoa being average. That try they set up v warriors showed his class. Like most young guys the key is doing it most weeks

Facebook. There is your answer lack of brain cells over there

Well I just got told this from somewhere not Facebook:

"Yeah sure, as long as he doesn't make any shit attempts at kicking, passes without looking leading to an intercept, or runs backwards like he usually does. Let Cleary take control of the game, our team performs way better when Moylan takes a step aside"

All those are flaws in Moylan's game playing FB doing minimal training then moving to a key position does that. Time should fix those but we are far better with Moylan in the team somewhere

I have no doubt Moylan will play this week, even if only 90% fit. Clearly, the brain's trust gambled and felt we would cover his absence in the last two weeks but this week really is a must win game given our challenging run home. Raiders and Sea Eagles away and both games we will be up against it so we need to win our two home games. Moylan needs to play and if the worst happens and he re-injures his hammy then that's the gamble we have to take because we had to win against the Cowboys.
