We drop TMM. Insisting its injury related and he is part of our future plans.
We leave TMM out. Insisting its form related.
We release TMM to Cowboys. Insisting he was valued etc.
Cowboys play us that week, but dont pick him despite Thurstons injury.
He plays every game for Cowboys since then.
Then we face them again and he is ruled out.

Wait, even if we assume the TMM rumours are true, what's the connection to him not being selected against us. Are they worried we'll belt him? Sledge him? Is he scared? Are the Cows worried about the rumour spreading to their players in the post game handshakes?

This is a huge game for them. Even in the rumoured situation it'd be a massive call not to pick the best 6 you have available just because he'll get a bit of treatment. This is footy, man up. I think it's more likely not playing against us was an unofficial condition of his release than anything else. Or maybe he's just injured.
