Round 23 v The Bloody Bulldogs

MyThe Dragons can definitely get that 8th finals spot this season and with a few new faces (Cook, Holmes?) maybe there's hope for us yet in the years to come.

We are better than everyone thought however I do think our for and against will cost us a tilt at 8th spot. Then, for all the hard work, it just becomes another final less campaign in the end.

I know we are working hard to secure players but the fact we are already down a Zac and only up one Cook is beyond scary.

The coach deserves great credit but the club on a whole have not changed.

Last week against the Storm our halves shared our attack
Hunt on the left , flanno on the right
worked a treat ...in sync
Last night it was Hunt domination
Why change something that worked ?
Effort was there last night..Execution Poor
I don’t know but they both looked panicked last night regardless of who had the ball in hand.

The Storm win was a broken clock is correct twice a day type scenario. A hard earned win very well deserved but it’s not as if we have come up with halves/ team that can bring down the Storm. It was just a wonderful rare event.

Our halves combo is better than last year but light years off the pace of first grade.

Yep
The entire side appeared very nervy , esp in the first half
We have to keep searching for an Organiser type Half Back
Not many about
What a crazy season and results
L Week the Titans put the cleaners thru the Broncs in the 2nd half putting on 6 unanswered tries to Nil
Last night the Broncs do similar to the Cows at home
Just proves you must be Up for every game or you will be towelled up

He is absolutely terrible. Wont ever earn a rep jersey, dont even compare the 2. Flanno decided to throw a metre forward pass because he bottled it. He is horrible, Hunt has almost all our try assist what about flanno the absolute plank. Does fk all
You are entitled to your opinion. That doesn't mean that you are right or that I have to agree with you. I would like to have a more accomplished No 6, but very few, if any, are available. Kyle was just one of many poor performances last night.

Brief comment;

The bulldogs looked a bit better most of the game. Phil Gould has been able to buy Elite and quality players for the dogs ( Ado Carr, Chricton, Burton, etc ) and it shows. Our roster not at that level.

However, we competed well and I agree that at a pinch and some rub of the green it might have been a very close result.

The KF ‘bite allegation’ looks very dodgy and bit of nothing to me. SC is relishing his role in leading the dogs forward and imo gave a soft headbutt in headgear to KF to establish I‘m top dog and don’t forget type situation. He keep grinding his face into KF, who never lifted his head but kept thrashing about side to side to get up and play the ball. I was surprised at the commentary actually heavily critics ing KF. Go figure. I wasn’t particularly perturbed at KF or SC.

anyway, let’s hope for a win next week.

I’m not a Saints fan but if Flanagan gets wiped for munching on Crichton’s nose it’s a travesty of justice, Crichton head butted him 3 or 4 times in the exchange. Biting is a dog act but in this case Crichton got what he deserved
100%
Honestly don’t care what happens as Kyle needs a spell but that was all instigated by Crichton being a big tough man and invading his space with no thought of consequence. Sometimes a dog gets bitten.

Out enthused
Season on the line
Kogarah is no fortress
Kogarah lost that fortress mentality ages ago imo. Teams like the Sharks, Bulldogs, Roosters, Bunnies don't give a shit that it is one of the Dragons home grounds. The ground does not faze them one bit.

We had a sold out arena last night and yet again we play so bad and it's like the players just get so overawed by the occasion. "Wow, look at all dose peoples, I don't like dis feeling wiff dem lookin at mi"!

This was the time that they should have played as if it was the grand final. A time when guts and fortitude were required. A time when pain was not going to stop them from hitting as hard and as often as possible. Cop the bruises and knocks and don't give a rats on how you feel attitude. Where was the toughness? Where were their brains on how they can do things better in attack and defence? What did our coaches do to prepare them for this game? We knew that the Dogs' defence had improved this year so how do we get through them to score? How can we defend against their speed?

Another loss at Kogarah. Once the fortress and stronghold of the mighty Dragons. How things have nose dived.

Hunt is a flog. Tonight's result is on him. He's uninspired and uninspiring. Can't stand to watch him in a red V anymore.
Hunt is not consistent enough. He is hot and cold. Most "good" halves deliver every week and this results in positive team work and then wins. Hunt does not deliver every week or maybe not every two weeks or three. For us to be really successful we do need a consistent game managing half.

Agree, Dogs have four premiership players from the Panthers, we went to Target sales
No we didn't it was the Reject Shop, carltonsouth!! The work of Gus Gould and Ciraldo getting the guys from the Panthers must be applauded. We are lucky to get any players let alone good ones.

Success increases exponentially with the club becoming more popular. The more successful the club gets the easier it is to continue to get the better and right players for the club and therefore making it even more successful.

In my view, the Dogs will win a grand final in the next year or two, not any longer than that.

There are regular comments made about top teams and top players: The difference between their best game and their worst game is not very much. Hunt does have the odd very good game, but his bad games are dreadful. He, like the Dragons, seriously lacks consistency and that is the team's major issue.

We are a slow ponderous side that stands flat in attack as a result the teams that get off their defensive line quickly contain us with ease.
That is one of our biggest concerns. The lack of speed and also endurance. The game has quickened up with the rule changes such as the 6 agains and the quicker and stronger teams generally win because they can defend their line faster to restrict the ball being passed along the line and also keeping teams in their own half for much of the game. Speed in attack it not only results in many tries being scored but it makes the teams doing it look so much more competent and fitter and with excitement with the razzle dazzle finish to the try line.

You would think that a coach like Flanagan would know this, surely.

We have so many plodders in our team it is not funny.

The lack of consistency is mainly on the basis of two issues: there are too many dead set reserve graders (one or two of them would be lucky to call themselves that) in the side, and also there are too many mentally weak players.

RFM, Kyle, Max F (who has done a good fill in job), are all no more than admirable back up players who are good to have in your SQUAD, but not your 17. Eisenhuth's output has dropped throughout the season to be at this level as well. Good to have for backup and professionalism around the club, but currently isn't good enough for first grade. Hunt I will file into the mentally weak category, one of the weakest players in this area in the game. To be an Aus rep, turn up one week, and then get nervous and push shit passes, kick poorly, throw intercepts, and defend poorly the next week in front of a sold out home crowd points to a bad mentality. Not to mention his berating of other players on the team.

Blake Lawrie is another level down to these players. He just shouldn't be in a first grade top 30 system at all. I don't think he'd make an impact on the game at Sydney Shield level - that is not an exaggeration. Granted, I'll acknowledge he had a couple of okay runs yesterday where he found his front, but then somehow despite this killed any momentum he might've generated with a slow play the ball. Surprise, surprise, on every play after his play the ball, the next runner got smashed. To miss that tackle on our line and concede that try as well was absolutely appalling, that wouldn't fly in under 10's.

It's these sorts of players that need to be weeded out of the top 17. I thought Ryan Couchman unsurprisingly had a good game, found his front, quick play the balls, just got his job done and done well. Having him and Toby in next week will be exciting if it eventuates. De Belin played well off the bench again. Suli shut down Crichton well who had one of his quieter games for the year. Also did well coming out of our end as usual - he'll be a huge loss with injury. Liddle was good, but output dropped again as the game went on. He is a clear 14 to me, and will be a very dangerous one at that next year. Luc was decent as well. That's about it. Sele I hope is okay.

dont you just love how flanagan has already been found guilty by all commentators ??/ , no mention of crichton rubbing his face all over kyle and literally pushing his nose into kyles mouth . everybody "clearly ' sees Kyle close his mouth ... ( doesnt look like it to me ) And as Crichton has now been elevated to a god like status by the media it wont matter what defence gets shown it will be deemed that Kyle has attacked a poor defenceless crichton and deserves a very lengthy suspension , even though Kyle is flat on his back, held down and having crichton rubbing his face all over kyles BUT clearly in commentators eyes Kyle rears up and takes a huge bite on crichtons nose and shakes his head from side to side as there is no way that crichton could have actually rubbed his teeth over kyles exposed bottom teeth ........
If footage clearly shows kyle biting he deserves whatever penalty he gets but lets ask what / why crichto was doing

Chrichton was clearly rubbing his very abrasive head gear all over K F’s face pushing down on a pinned player as hard as he could to try and inflict pain.

Grub act by S C and should be called out.
