Take away from today's game.
  • All that was predicted re second half of the season performances has come true.
  • As I said somewhere else in the forum, the optimists fell for the 3 card monte trick after last weeks win.
  • Our roster is always over rated by our own supporters.
  • The detrimental effect of sustained bad coaching is underestimated by some "die hard" supporters.
  • People who insist that there is no one good enough in ISP to replace people in 1st grade have NFI what they are talking about.
  • Today was yet again another example that when we should be able to lift for the greater good of the club and its history on very special / commemorative days, neither the playing group nor the coaching staff can find it within themselves to do so, so therefore our soul has gone AWOL.
  • Listening to our side being booed is the most gut wrenching and chilling sound you can ever here at a footy match.

So who can you name fron isp to come in

I say if Hunt wants to go please go,if Nene wants out so be it.Let them go.
Injuries to Aitken and Nighty are positives and force some change, which would never happen otherwise.
Maybe a silver lining through default and not positive coaching methods.

Firstly I must give credit to the young Bulldogs who played ever so well today , my how their fans must be feeling knowing that next year promises so much - good luck to them .

The Dragons were horrendous, played without any real purpose , totally lacking in self belief and therefore will not be doing anything except making up the numbers in the semis .

The reasons are many , but it still comes back to , at least imo that they are not inspired to go on to any great heights by the one person whose job it is to do so, namely the coach cannot get through to them . Right or wrong , good or bad he simply cannnot get his message across to the players and as a result they go out onto the field as a bunch of misfits who are firing only 1 cylinder instead of 8 .

In plain simple English , they are f**ked before they set foot onto the ground , as they have no confidence in what they do and as such merely go through the motions during the game . This is even worse then writing a eulogy for someone that you have loved and know , you will never see again , as it involves more than a person but something that you have cherished since you were a child .

Can only pray that the new owner of the club will see fit to spend some money and get players who have heart and are willing to give it their all and not forgetting a coach who can actually speak to his players and if need to ,put the fear of god into them .

Lomax, Lawrie, Sele, Herbert would all bring better prospects to our team than Lafai, Aitken, Latimore and no doubt Graham is busted and JDB & TS have gone MIA since origin and should be rested and Dufty needs to be reminded of what a 1st gard player needs to do by having a stint in reggies (did the world of good for Latrell Mitchell)
The notion that a team that is getting flogged and lost 6 / 7 doesn't require changes is absurd.

How hard is it to offload the ball and support the ball carrier? Why isn't this part of our game plan? I think we may have offloaded 2 or 3 times today and all when we already out of the contest. One of those offloads gave McInness some space and he made the easiest metres of the day (of which there were few). Bulldogs just seemed to do it all day and it was part of their success. This has been an obvious deficiency of ours in the second half of the year and I find it to be the most frustrating issue with our game. Earlier in the year Widdop and Dufty in particular were busting teams open by simply following the ball.

I can only assume the players are coached by Paul McGregor to not offload the footy. We are not a team with the greatest potency in attack on the best of days so why has this been eliminated from our game? Our forwards make the hard yards and the backs reap the benefits. Instead we have our backs doing the lion's share of hit ups.

You would be hard pressed to find a memorable and really enjoyable win under Mary, let alone all the horrible losses and new history being written about a once formidable club. At least a win that really mattered. Is it too much to ask to not be the most boring team in the comp, and maybe get the most fundamental parts of the game right?

Yes I know. The comment was based on the dream that Widdop will be 100% fit to play against Newcastle.

There was a time when the club was ruthless. Better players than JP have been sent packing in the past.

He certainly tried hard. Too many mistakes today.

Whilst the kid dufty has some deficiency a good coach or coaches would work with him iron out the problems and back him.
The kid can play he looks confused I take it from the instructions from the heirachy on how to play

Ok, surely Mary has lost the dressing room. There is something big happening behind the scenes; I just hop it is not a problem with Hunt.

So how to get the team back on the rails:
1. Sack Mary or at least replace him short term to see if that makes a difference. Bring in one of the unemployed first grade coaches e.g. Maguire, Hasler …….
2. Select form players to replace our injured and out of form players:
1. Lomax
2. Macdonald
3. Lafai
4. Herbert
5. Masters
6. Mann
7. Hunt
8. Frizell
9. McInnes
10. Ah Mau
11. Leilua
12. Sims
13. Sele

14. De Belin
15. Graham
16. Host
17. Robson

Dogs worked out quickly that we were going to do one out hit ups all day and therefore compressed their defence to ensure they had 3 men in the tackle and dominate the ruck

We were bunched all day and were lucky to throw more than 2 passes in a set of six. Then on the last an ineffective bomb with no pressure (play rewind play rewind)
Even the few occasions we had a set of six in dogs territory it was one out hit ups - spare me . Surely they have a trick play they practice at training

Today the Red V was shamed.
It seems that the only people who care are us supporters.
I have no confidence in any of our management, playing staff, coaching staff or direct members of the board.

Today was quite possibly the lowest low.
I'm just wondering what the BS excuse will be.?
