I liked Lindsey Smith most. That chase from Blackwr was orgasmic as was the Staines try assist.

Anyway can't be too unhappy. Given the way the game panned out and the ridiculous gulf in experience I thought they competed well. I wouldn't be writing anyone off on that basis of that game, though a few players clearly have work to do.

I thought Lindsay Smith was good, as was Hopgood. Others showed flashes of quality. Crichton looked good in the first half actually. Luke had some good moments with the ball. Blackers chase was absolutely unreal.

Bring on the real footy.

Blacker chasing down Drinkwater was the highlight for me. Soni defensively the lowlight. Overall a decent enough effort all things considered
I'm hoping that the team learns from the experience. I missed the Blacker chase - I turned off after the BS Penalty Try. Does the bunker make new rules as they go along? Must admit though, I never did understand Gridiron... Well played the Dallas Cowboys

Good effort by the NSW Cup team.
SOS and Chris Smith were s**t!
With a decent half and Falls doing more kicking it would have been closer.
Against the supposed second best team in the comp who had 55% possession, 48 sets to 36, a 9-4 penalty count, 3-0 restart count, every bounce of the ball, and a useless ref looking after them, they did an excellent job. They showed the future is still very bright.
Watching the other grades this afternoon shows that the systems are working well and that we can be confident that the talent is coming through.

SOS 5th tackle is terrible 9 times out of 10.

Overall I saw 17 guys giving their all to combat the obvious class gap, and despite the score were sticking true to the current Panther ethos. Frustratingly it seemed to take 78 minutes for a single call / ball bounce to go their way, for all the efforts they put in.
I might get the bunker to come visit my house, they can read Jenkins change of mind to make a tackle when diving for a ball, so perhaps they can tell me what the missus is thinking… when she dives for one 😂

Hopgood made his usual mistakes in the second half.
I just wonder what could of happened if he got that first try.

They will be sluggish next week coming up against a red hot Eels team
I'll define sluggish for you. Sluggish is when the Storm play against Parra after the previous week playing like it was a GF against the Roosters.

Think hard and long about this. Penrith are rested, Penrith's injuries are much less than they will be after extra time in rehab.

The only drawback that I can think of, and the Panthers better work on this tirelessly, is how Cleary will slot back in. So he has to hit the deck running in this game, because anyone playing three games this time won't win the GF....period.
