The way that the team has played for most of the year, that is w,l,w,l,w,l,w etc makes me wonder whether or not from one week to the next the guys just switched off after they win the game before and lose their focus and lose the following game, then switch back on to win the next game. It is like someone is turning the lights on and off or the go and stop buttons.

This in itself shows consistency by the team but of course the wrong sort. I don't know what the coaching guys do but surely for the games that the guys won, the coaching staff need to recall how the players were prepared, what game plans were used, where were they most damaging in attack and the same for the defence......

Good post DD, and valid points.
I believe its a lack of leadership.
Every successful team has 1 or 2 senior players who run the team, hold all the players accountable to standards and the coaches directions, and keep them focused.
They are the coaches enforcers to keep the team in line during games and when out of coach's supervision.

The best I saw was Ben Kennedy as he ran the team and made sure everyone played their part and followed the script. Wherever Ben played, teams improved as he would not accept any slackness or substandard performances.

Yes, good points there SGMax. This is why we have played so inconsistently as a team because our leader himself was very inconsistent. One problem that we have had for many years is that Ben Hunt hardly got injured and the only way that the team would not have him is when he played SOO. Without looking up the games during SOO time and my memory isn't as sharp as it used to be, I think we didn't do too badly this year when Hunt was on SOO duties. So I'm thinking our years of poor and inconsistent results was because we had Ben Hunt playing in nearly all of our games. Hahaha. There is the answer in a nutshell fellas.

I am dying to see how we go once Hunt leaves the club. I think it will be a godsend and then our game plans will be completely different and winnable.

Ben Hunt's recent interviews confirm he has never has a true vested interest in the Dragons bar a pay-cheque.

He views himself as a Bronco

We've let him lead our club!

Farrrrrrrrrk!

He has been a total waste of money and yes, money was the thing that got him here and McGregor wanted him as a specialist half back. I can't recall who we had before him, but I think whoever it was would have been more value to us and to partner Widdop. That's right he was Josh McCone, Mary's love child, and before him it was Benji Marshall. Well I guess at the time Hunt seemed to be the better of the other two and we did make the semis in 2018 when he joined us to partner Widdop. But overall, just a waste.

Odds of winning Powerball 1 in 134 million.
Odds of winning oz lotto 1 in 62 million.
Odds of Winning Saturday lotto 1 ,in 8 million
Odds of bt Raiders and then a draw for Knights and Dolphins more than winning powerball.
I don't think that's right. There's been nearly 200 games so far this year and 1 draw. So chances of a draw are roughly 1 in 200. Being generous, our chances of winning against the Raiders are 50-50 or 1 in 2. So our chances of making the finals are 1 in 400. Having once won a frozen chook in the Hurstville RSL raffle, I feel more than qualified to comment.

Tamale in to replace Bird apparently
Just to clarify.. Bird has back issues is the word, not dropped.. I dont think Flanno wanted to play Tamale before he leaves for the raiders... probably pushes Lomax into the centres also.. perhaps its lucky we didnt make finals.. this is it for our squad... no other backs left (well ignoring ravalawa).

I get it, but in this particular instance, who else were they meant to have picked lol.
Max Feagai again? No thanks
Who is also leaving. At least by debuting Tamale, if he turns out good, there's a chance we're a better shot at getting him back than him going to other clubs considering he'll have some level of personal fondness/affiliation with the club. I really don't see a problem with doing it in this instance
