I said on another forum this weekends win would be a waste if we don't beat Sea Eagles who are struggling a little...last year w Mcgregor in charge I would be panicking but w Hook at the helm I can only see improvement week in week out...so hopefully a solid win and 2/3 heading towards our first huge game vs Parra the week after..

Belief is powerful thing in rugby league and the Dragons seemed to have more belief now than for a mighty long time.

Just gotta build on it cut the errors down and we'll challenge any team imo...

I'm looking forward to see what game plan Griffin comes up with for the Manly clash. I'd be having Sims harass Cherry-Evans all game long. Hit him hard and often!

Is Saab injured?

I feel Des Hasler will have Manly primed to go all out during the early stages of the game, put on a score, then endeavour to defend their lead. If we can hold them out for the first fifteen minutes, I will be very confident that we will play over the top of them late in the first half and in the second half.

Saints just need to start fast and blow them off the park nice and early. Easier said then done I know considering our starts in round 1 and 2 were terrible

I expect the coaching team are aware of our slow starts and will be working overtime this week to ensure that the team comes out with a little more energy than was the case in the last two games.

Darling Dreary Evans , a gifted player undoubtedly , however there are times when the pressure becomes too much for him and he goes into the meltdown phase .

My concern is - as a number of members have already mentioned - is that Dessie will have them primed for a true effort against the Dragons and that being the case our boys cannot afford to sit on their laurels .

Saturday's win is done and dusted and they need to clear their minds , there’s no start nor middle in the competition under Hook , merely one game at a time and that is the approach that the players themselves should take .

From the stats it looks like Manly gave a good account of themselves against the Wabbits with good possession, good metres and good kicking and game control from DCE. The reality on the park though was wasted opportunities and some inept defence. Souths lost Paulo and Reynolds for the second half, copped two sin binnings and had a couple of tries disallowed / bombed but that didn't seem to help Manly.
Manly will come out firing and be desperate for a win and we can't afford to take them lightly.

There is no greater joy in life for me than watching the Dragons beat Manly, none, and I'm quietly optimistic of getting some joy out of this match. Hunt and Norman will need their kicking game to be even better than last week because DCE is one of the best at turning teams around and we need to match him. Of course we need to cut out the errors and take our defence up another notch. There were some good signs last week in defence and building combinations and after a gutsy win we can add some self belief.
Dufty and Ravs love playing Manly and will hopefully both have blinders. Dragons by 8.

I get that the game is a lot quicker now but imo for the first 15 mins in particular its more important to play the ball correctly and complete your sets rather than get caught in a frenetic pace race....so often you see players rushing to play the ball quickly or panic passing and 50% of the time hand back the ball to the opposition...you can always build the momentum whilst in possession as the game progresses once you've steadied the ship...just my thoughts anyhow
