So after a win and a close loss to the premiers we're back to where we started. No enthusiasm, determination or fight amongst the players and we've re-signed a coach who no-one else was chasing and is 9-18 in his Dragons career. At least we won the Charity Shield I guess.

The way you guys bounce back next week is the most important thing. I thought you were very good last week against the Panthers albeit unlucky. Our passes stuck and we played good footy considering the conditions and would have beat most teams last night. Stick with them...I still think you're a far better team than last year.

There is no good looking back at the halcyon days of the club they are so far back they seem like medieval times, with the possible exception being 2010. The current team reeks of mediocrity. Last night they looked like an aimless flock of sheep, no sharpness, completely rudderless. Sloan may have ability but he is not robust enough to handle big players running at him. Amone seemed lost and Ramsay although fast is not robust enough to break tackles. The forwards in the main were just plodders with the possible exception of de Belin. Where to from here? It does not look promising.

missed most of the first half tonight . what i did notice was Simms not being on the field until late in the second half . on stats he only played 34 minutes .. did he go off injured or has he just gone off the boil

After a good night’s sleep and much reflection, I have to say that the Sharks are a good team who recruited very well. The Dragons continue to be a work in progress. The problem is, not much progress has been made since 2012. We have a bloke called Ben Hunt on a million a year who isn’t worth that much. We also have a five eight and fullback who are green and had a rough couple of weeks against 2 top teams. Hopefully they come good soon. We continue to be inconsistent. The only consistency about our team is that we will make a dumb mistake or 2 or 3. It would be nice to see some improvement in this area but it’s the same old shit from this mob. Hook. Pull your finger out and fix this mess already

Ford adds nothing except giving some other bloke who does bugger all a few minutes rest. Maybe we could negotiate a swap for Luciano?
It doesn't matter who plays FB or 5/8 or 1/2 if the forwards don't lay a platform. And they don't. Every now and then they pull off some big defensive hits but it's never sustained for more than three tackles before they start clutching at air and falling over each other. It really is Keystone Cops garbage and you expect better from a coach with Hook's experience. But who I really blame are the brains trust in charge of recruitment. We do not have a single impact player ( like Haas, David Fifita, Fa'asuamaleaui or Fonua-Blake) in the forwards, who bends or breaks the line, draws multiple defenders to him. And we don't have a quality dummy half, and we have a 5/8 and full-back with training wheels on. It's the most spineless spine in the NRL.

We were beaten by a better side, at least on the night. I still see lots of good signs, but the sharks had a great night. No point getting too concerned in round 3. So much happier than last years

There was clearly an attempt to square up the officiating late in the game...
