Round 4 v Dragons

Seems about right. Minor injuries that should be a couple weeks end up being a couple of months.

Moylan was targeting a Round 2 return. Round 4 was supposed to be his worst case. Looks like we will be lucky to see him before Round 6.

On the Panthers site they say,

"While Merrin is almost certain to return this week, the Panthers are without star duo Matt Moylan and James Segeyaro.

Moylan sat out Wednesday's training, but should return from his back injury in a couple of weeks. Segeyaro, meanwhile, got through the session, but admits he's still about four weeks away from a return to first-grade after breaking his arm in the Round 1 loss at Canberra."

That's on the panthers site but it's an nrl.com article. Daily telegraph has moylan gunning to be a late inclusion. I guess we will find out soon enough.

So that old prick needs to pick on rookie halves to feel relevant now does he?

Tmm will run rings around that slow sack of shit.

Smith better not be playing after last week. Ill be f**king furious

Umina, can't we just wish the kid well and hope he has a blinder? Forget last week, it's all about this week. He may not be your favourite player but he's in the team whether you like it or not so get behind him and hopefully he will play well.

It's probably best to persist atm just so we don't keep chopping and changing our spine. Smith IMO only worries me under the high ball hoping he does have a ripper ( some of those slicing runs from last year would be great)

The way the game is these days, for the most part anyway, there are so very few genuine clean line breaks.

I would like to think we could harness the strike power or attacking strengths of the likes of Will Smith & DWZ to create opportunities for them but to date we have not seen any such attacking structure.

Any line breaks we have made have been more as a result of broken field play or good fortune rather than structured attack and set plays. Hopefully Moylan's ultimate return may improve on this situation but in his absence we have to do more offensively to get strike players such as Smith and DWZ opportunities.

We have conceded 12 tries in 3 games this season, 8 of which have been scored by the halves of our opposition and 10 from players in the 'spine'. Of our 9 tries only one has been scored by our halves Te Maire Martin and remains 1 from the 'spine'. Yes stats aren't everything but in the scheme of things our offensive stats are a concern which we need to address and quickly.

The Dragons will be very hard to beat at WIN Stadium. Anyone thinking we are favourites to win this one are kidding themselves. We are going to have to play very well to get the two points tomorrow and almost certainly better than we have played to date this season.

If putting blind faith in a player who's terrible makes you feel like a true fan then good for you but ill call it like it is. The team is far stronger without Smith in it, especially when we have 2 fit players who are far better fullbacks. If I was DWZ id be signing elsewhere

DWZ and Mansour are our two best wingers
Hiku and Blake (while Whare is out) are our two best centres.

Why would you weaken either of these positions to to temporarily fix another?

I agree, Smith hasnt had the best couple of weeks, but he's been training strong and has the ability to play well. It's not exactly blind faith.

DWZ comes across as much more intelligent than you, so I think he understands that he has a long way to go, especially with his health problems he has had in the past, to become a regular FG fullback in the NRL.

Tend to agree. While I would rather go back to NSW cup for a couple of weeks, he has shown when his heads right, he's more than capable at this level. Hoping he has a blinder if he plays.

Yeo is a better centre than Smith is a fullback.
