Round 4 Vs Warriors

I don't know which Warriors will turn up but if we don't watch out they will pull our pants down.

The concerning thing for me is (apart from the attack) a short turn around after an energy sapping golden point.

Hetherington is now available for selection. I am not sure on Naden's availability.

Warriors being in camp i think is a huge advantage. No outside mates/ family distractions and can fully buy into what the team want to achieve. They all get to eat the right foods, get good sleep and train train train.

And they don’t lose a day to travelling any more.

Two teams that seemingly cannot handle high expectations. Based off the weekend you'd say Warriors 13+ but who knows which team will show up.

I’d play Naden and Leinu. Martin and Edwards if fit a few fresh bodies could be a good thing

We will be better for the run. Whether or not this week due to the short turnaround or not is the question

Last round was a gutsy effort by the Warriors, but lets be realistic, the Dragons were terrible. The Warriors were playing it safe & didnt need to throw a lot at them. We should win this quite comfortably if the team is switched on.

I'd leave the team pretty much as is except bring Hetherington in for Burns. The other thing I'd try is switch sides between Sauce & To. The right isnt particularly potent anyway. Too' on the left with Crighton & Kikau could go well. Then we still get the metres out of our own end that Josh provides. We know Ivan wont drop Sauce or Whare, so fantasising about other players there is pointless. Swapping sides with the wingers could offer something more than it is now.

I wouldn't switch Sauce to Whare's side. You will end up with 2 slow old farts paired together. An opposition player with speed would have a field day.

Edwards
Too
Chrichton
Naden
Mansour
Burton
Luai
Fish
Yeo
Kicks
Zane
API
Tamou
Capewell
Martin
Hethrington
Leota

I thought Capewell was good and will get better, but he can come on and Yeo and Fish can be middles and Hethrington ,can come on for Zane and we have better leg speed at the back end of the first half. Martin can play middle or edge , give Yeo a rest that way he doesn’t give away 4th tackle penalties with 50 seconds before halftime ,and even though I hate Leota’s hands he does give some punch when we have go forward.

The Warriors set a new record for 100% possession. 46 sets without an error.

5 day turnaround and team that won't give it away will make the game very difficult for us IMO.

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary has named his side to face New Zealand Warriors at Campbelltown Stadium on Friday.

In the only change to the team that drew with Newcastle, Liam Martin has been named on the bench after overcoming a leg injury.

Dylan Edwards remains sidelined with a hamstring complaint but Jack Hetherington joins the reserves having served his two-match suspension for a high tackle against the Roosters.

The Panthers will wear the black 2020 Home Jersey.

How does Aekins keep a first grade spot over Naden? I know Naden has his problems but at least he offers something in attack, Aekins is useless. Hell Naden would probably perform better at fullback over Aekins...

Couldn't score against in injury depleted side and we make no changes at all?

Naden had better come in. We need guys who know how to grab a try. Knowing Cleary it would be at the expense of Too or Crichton though. Don't want 3 trys in the team.

There is a lot to be said for having a mistake free game. Even Teddy can't boast that.

Having said that I'd have Naden in the side. Seems to me he has fallen from favour for some reason.

He has issues. Although his strengths outweigh them IMO

That said... Why doesn't Ivan look at his flaws and try to move him to a position they aren't as big an issue? He truly seems to have a one track mind for players... Despite the fact Naden was only a centre through necessity originally. He seems to forget that's not the position he played in lower grades.

Our backline is playing with one hand tied behind its back

in the last 57 games combined for Whare, Mansour & Aekins they have a combined 4 tries.

Whare 25 games - 1 Try

Mansour 25 games - 3 tries (2 in the first of these 25)

Aekins 7 games - 0 tries

You can’t win footy games if your backs can’t score.
