They asked Sims what he thought of Souths after his match last week and he was very complementary. No sense of apathy, they desperately need this win.

Well the rehab report says Jaxson is out til round 6 so even though he’s named in NSW cup it could be a smokescreen and he could be back next week.

The area Mansour will help us in over Paulo is doing the tough carries out of trouble. I agree it’s not ideal but he will be hungry let’s see how he goes.

Also last week in the presser JD spoke highly of Jaxson so he’s probs just out this week and him being in NSW Cup could be a typo for all we know.

Sauce would have to have a very very good game I think to keep his spot over Jaxson next week.

Hopefully he ha been told not to rush in like a maniac on D creating a 2 and 3 man overlap.
Expect a lot of traffic and kicks going that way

Really like all the boys attitudes there, particularly Cody's. He knows he's been blow par and is owning it as a senior player. Really has a fire in the belly to get out there and get back into form. I know it's just talk, but it's a good sign.

He’s the most obvious captain in the game!

You want to capture his passion and ability every week.

Plus a post-renno era is not easy.

This is about the match of the round in relative and effort terms.

Mansour, really capable just needs the composure.

Wet track by the looks.

It might be a good idea to get Lats back into the Centres, especially against Saints, as their backs, fresh from a brutal contest, look fairly handy.

AJ is a competent and able fullback. He’s agile, a thinker and loves the try.

When the roosters had Lats in the centre’s, geez he was devastating. 3 or 4 defenders in urgent mode. Slide over to capture him, leaving line space. Very unnerving. But at fullback he’s to create the extra man, but he’s often seen coming, defences have more time, unless he’s on the hop.

I’d settle for a a few positional changes for him throughout the game. He’d be a great edge forward as well.

I don’t mind if people disagree.

I have no problem with Latrell to left centre but I'd have Taaffe to fullback.

The problem I have with Taafe at fullback is that when kick returning, or digging the ball out from deep in our territory is that he ends up driven 10-15 yards back from the point of initial contact by the opposition.

And that curious step he has just before the contact, his whole body weight and momentum is shifting backwards, not forwards into the defenders, and that is why he is ending up driven backwards.

Mansour's tough carries have been a myth ever since he arrived at souths.

The thing with aging players, is that their good games get more distant and you have to hope that if they are selected, they jag a good game. Invariably they factory or have a shocker.

Sharon Woods retired many years ago!

It's like taking 5 steps backwards so that you can take ten steps forward, we have glaring problem at left centre that only Latrell can fill until someone else comes along and personally I think Taaffe does a good job back there, not perfect but good and overall I think the team would be better for it........I know that this is not a popular idea with most supporters though.
