Offer Mansour a 3 year deal worth about 275k per season. If he wants to chase big $$$'s elsewhere let him go. Should not be getting into bidding wars for wingers and props.
This is why we need to keep Mansour:

Mansour certainly isnt a must keep player imo.
He is in good form and deserves his spot in our side but I would not want our club to pay overs for him at all, we have to many talented outside backs. Also as a NSW fan i would be worried if he was picked for Origin, it would be like Merrit again I fear.
That's the way I see it. We offer him a deal he takes it or he doesn't. There will always be someone to fill the void. 90% of the backs in NYC you could develop to a handy winger.
I don't think we'll be paying overs for anyone with Gould in charge.
But mansour is certainly worth a decent offer.
Of course he is worth an offer, I'd like to keep him. I agree that Gould won't pay overs for him, but another club might in which case I hope we just let him go, like Daz said, not worth a bidding war.
There's very few backs that have Mansours ability to make meters & break tackles.
I dont want to get into a massive bidding war either but let's not kid ourselves, his abilities are rare.
Which is why he'll likely get a decent offer from someone.
He's worthy of at least one counter offer ( if there's room)
A take it or leave it offer would be be ridiculous for someone with his talent.
Im talking defensively, they would give him a bath with his tendency to run in, anyway thats just how I see it. And you are being harsh on Merrit, he has sucked since Origin yes but he has had periods of better form then Mansour currently over the last few years. He relies on pace the same way Josh relies on his strength, both are a bit one dimensional.
Gus was in charge when Gordon left. We made several offers we got to $300k and so nope sorry too big. Similar here I am fine with making silly bids when you can get by with cheaper. No thanks
The Gordon example is an interesting one as I remember MX also being very upset that we didn't pay more to keep Gordon
That decision seems to have been justified
When Penrith won its first comp, it had two very average wingers in Mackay and Smith. They scored plenty because they had the most visionary halfback playing the game at the time, Greg Alexander. Some will disagree and say Mackay was really good, he did play for NSW 4 times and Australia once, but I think he was helped by being in such a good team. Anyway, i agree. Wingers are very rarely the key element in winning a premiership.Strange we were going to regret that decision yet found Mansour in his place. No team has ever not won the comp because of letting a winger go
Funny becuase I do remember us having a very good pair of wingers the last time we won a comp
But I agree with the general premise
