Damn. 350 k too much for a winger with the depth we have. Love him and he's in good form but yeah, see ya bud. Thanks for the service.

I agree, If he has been offered that it will be hard to match, we have Kevin, Eto even George Jennings, we surely cannot keep all of them and Mansour on that money.

Not even if it costs us upwards of 350 k for a winger with the back up talent we have?

We are going to lose some outside backs regardless of what happens, may as well dodge a 350 k contract.

We should do our best to keep Mansour. Not sure he has a spot on the wing when DWZ, Jennings and Nabouli are fit, firing and have a few first grade games behind them. But considering injuries and the potential of some of these guys covering a centre position when Idris/Whare are out, or Mansour/Idris covering the forwards. He's worth $350k if that's what it takes to keep him.

At the moment he's our best winger, consistent, reliable and hard working. He's a potential rep player and if he's like Flash he will come back better then ever. I think while fit he's a top 17 player for the next 2 years atleast.

Mansour does a great job, no question, but he has limitations and is not a $350K player in my opinion. I am sure Gould will be well aware of his true market value and will not pay overs. I don't profess to know what his truth worth would be, perhaps around $200k but certainly no more than $250K. I hope we resign him at his true value, particularly given Nabouli, Jennings and a few others are unproven at this stage. DWZ best position is fullback and that is his future in the game long term so I don't know where that places Moylan who will surely be under pressure at some point to keep his position.

Panther Daz made the point only Latimore of our forwards run for over 100 metres. This was a concern on the weekend and our forwards didn't really seem to bend to Raiders defensive line and get on any significant roll on. Sure the conditions were appalling but it didn't stop Brett White and three other Raiders running for over the 100. Concern given we are playing a better pack this Friday night.

Yep good point

I thought for all the talk of Grant firing up, he was pretty poor

McKendry hits the line with a bit more vigour but even he was pretty ineffective.

Given that Plum is never one to bend the line and talk of Docker moving to the front row long term, I think we really need to look at bringing in someone with a bit of size (e.g. Klemmer, Tapau, etc)

Say we keep Mansour for the rumoured price... then lose DWZ, Cartwright etc. Still worth it?

I don't think anyone off contract is irreplaceable. Including Robinson who I rate. Bottom line is both centres. Soward. Taylor etc aren't cheap. Something needs to give. Aside from a prop or 2 when Grant & or McKendry leave we will keep what we have

I don't think our salary cap situation is as dire as you guys may think. I am confident we have gone a long way to rectifying the problems we had a past season. I think we can retain most of the off contract players provided they are prepared to stay for market value contracts. Obviously the rumours around Tim and Sam have some legs and perhaps they are being shopped around to free up some cash to ensure the club retains who they believe are most crucial to accomplishing our five year plan. Campbell - Gillard has huge potential and must surely be knocking on the door next season for a spot in the top grade.

I am the only one who thinks Sika Manu should be used in the front row to do the hard yards? I think we could get more out of him playing him in the front row rather than on the fringes? Matt Robinson currently stuck in NSW Cup largely offers more on the fringes given his mobility and ability too off load. Yes he is smaller but I can't help feeling Sika would be greater value in the front row.

$350k in 2015 isn't a big salary for an NRL player IMO. Most rep players would be earning $500k+ in 2015, or atleast on their next contract they will be. Ideally you don't have them under the cap for that amount, but even if they are I think with Mansour you will atleast get a bloke earning every cent of his contract.

He gets through the work our forwards don't. He also scores tries just as any of our backs would do. Think he has scored hin his last 5 or 6 games now. Having decent centres and halves inside him has done wonders for him crossing the line.

$350K is big money for a winger at our club given we don't have the luxury of third party sponsors the likes of the Roosters and Bulldogs to name a few. Yes I am sure there would be clubs willing to shell out such dollars but I feel we couldn't afford to match those sort of offers.

The following are off contract at the end of the year:

DWZ
Mansour
Humble
G.Jennings
Eto
Wes
Yeo

I don't know how much room we have with the salary cap but I think we will lose at least 3 of these.

Someone mention on here that Jennings was leaving, add Wes ( too old ) and either Humble or Mansour ( too expensive).

We must keep Eto and DWZ outstanding talent and with many years to further develop.
