I’d pick Luai and Cleary everyday of the week in our halves, I sing their praises to to anyone who will listen, does that mean that my bias towards them??

I always pick who think is best for the team.

May is extremely footy smart and understands every position in the team, that’s why Ivan put him at FB in the storm game, because he understands the defensive system so well and was able to direct the defence from the back.

He understands all our systems and structures better than Burton and that’s why I’d pick him.

If I had the choice of signing one of them, I’d sign Burton, I think he’s the better halve/centre.

Matt has just as much footy smarts as tmay. Ivan also said in that press conference that he didn't want to affect defensive structures in that game hence why he went back there.

I've asked why you think tmay is better? So you say footy smarts and he understands our structures better than Burton.

If that's your opinion that's fine.

Burton can play as many if not more positions than tmay. Is quicker, better runner, better passer, better kicker. Has been in the system long enough to well and truly know the structures.

Just because he's off to the dogs next year doesnt mean he needs to go down and think about his decisions in nsw cup. He offers easily as much as tmay and just because he hasn't yet filled the 14 role DOES NOT mean he can't do it as good or better than tmay.

I'm worried about 2021, not 2022. IC needs to look past naths and tmays friendship and do what's best for the team.

That means finding Burton a spot in the 17 somewhere at full strength. Anyone panthers fan or not knows he's in our best 17.

If tmay stays that's fine but someone like momo probably misses out imo.

It is the US influence. The NFL fixed it by having a no taunting rule. Even laid back cricket has sledging unless you ban it. This sort of thing will happen

But you are comparing him to nrl starting hookers. You said name a tall hooker. The greatest hooker of all time was tall and he had the best service, good running game and certainly wasn't slow because he was tall even though he was a slow player.... that theory is literally just that.

I'm not talking about him starting hooker anyway. I said he could easily play hooker if he has to from the 14 role.

Api when fit and Kenny normally both play 80. So our 14 plays as a third half and he is a better half than tmay. If api or Kenny got injured Burton could easily fill that role for the remainder of the game.

Take your unbiased hat off and if you answer yes to most of those questions than you have your reasons. And answering yes to those isn't "guess work" if you've watched Burton play.

Forwards are much easier to cover if there is an injury because there's 3 on the bench.... you want your 14 to specifically be able to cover half's or a backline spot and if your hookers can't play 80 than hooker too.

Ours play 80 and our bench rotation can cover any injuries to the forwards.

So other than he's got footy smarts and has been in the system since flegg, I'm yet to hear any real reasons from yourself...

Just from this weekend, Liddle and Egan are both 185 who start and are regular #9s.

I'd never put Burton there for a whole game if someone was fit.

Bit he could definitely cover that role as a 14 if he had to.

Anyway, I love tmay. Not trying to bag him as a player. He's fantastic and a great 14.

It's just I think Burton offers more and if push come to shove and we are locked up at 12 all in a final, I know who I'd prefer to come on.

My preference overall would be to keep Burton at left centre critta right and tmay 14.

he has played two positions in the NRL, so to say that he can cover any position in the backline better than May is guess work and only a fool would do that.

When he has been named at 14 he hasn’t been used in the forward rotation. In fact, he was basically not used at all.

If you continue with ridiculous “T May” bias I’m going to believe what everyone else does call you a troll. I have as much bias for him as I do any other Panther.

So for all the reasons listed here and previously, I maintain that May is a more versatile player and the perfect no.14 for the 2021 Penrith Panthers.
