Tigers play by the rules
The Wests Tigers and Penrith Panthers aren’t the best of friends as it is, with the Tigers harbouring plenty of the animosity given the events that unfolded around their former coach Ivan Cleary.

Perhaps it’s partly why Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe phoned the NRL on Friday night after watching a sellout crowd celebrate Penrith’s win against the Raiders.

As a result of Pascoe’s phone call, the Panthers may now find themselves in hot water after breaching NRL and state government COVID restrictions in regards to venue capacity.

The NRL has asked Panthers officials for a please explain after fans packed the hill at BlueBet Stadium. Apparently, it’s OK for fans to sit side-by-side in the grandstand, but not for more than one person per two square metres on the hill. Go figure.

Regardless, the Panthers breached the rules when 20,890 turned up for the match in what was the biggest crowd at the venue since May 2018.

Penrith chief executive Brian Fletcher took responsibility for the error when contacted by the Herald, adamant that he misunderstood the directions from the NRL in a recent phone hook-up and informed staff that they could begin selling all tickets.

Behind the Tigers’ complaint was the fact they only sold limited tickets to Sunday’s sellout at Leichhardt Oval and were unable to pack the iconic hill.

The Tigers missed out on thousands of dollars, while the Panthers enjoyed a nice little pay day from having both the northern and southern hills at full capacity.

Wow is Pascoe a man, or a little boy? Pathetic, and juvenile behavour.

Ok Girds

he’s quicker
He doesn’t have a better passing game
He does have a better running game
He does have a running game
He is not a better defender

he has played two positions in the NRL, so to say that he can cover any position in the backline better than May is guess work and only a fool would do that.

When he has been named at 14 he hasn’t been used in the forward rotation. In fact, he was basically not used at all.

If you continue with ridiculous “T May” bias I’m going to believe what everyone else does call you a troll. I have as much bias for him as I do any other Panther.

So for all the reasons listed here and previously, I maintain that May is a more versatile player and the perfect no.14 for the 2021 Penrith Panthers.

Ouch. Call me a troll. Jeez. Haha how old are you? I'm not in here bashing panthers. I've said multiple times tmays a great player and I try be honest and and unbiased in everything I add here. If being honest makes me a troll so be it. No sleep lost cause you think I'm a troll Haha.

Fair enough you think tmays got a better passing game. I'd say given his background in the half's they are probably about the same. Tmays got good vision as does Burton. The reason I say Burton's passing is better I guess is the speed he does things.

You said yourself just before Burton's a better 5/8. He's been WAY better at centre than tmay was, especially in defence. Tmay is way way to slow for wing, and definitely doesn't half the kicking game for halfback. So the only position he's possibly better is fb which would be debatable.

So if he's not used in the forward rotation, and he's there to play 3rd half injury to the backs... I real don't see how he's better.

Again, I love tmay. I'd have him at 14 and Burton starting.

Im calling you a troll because you keep referring to some weird player bias that I supposedly have.. which is just dumb.

If anything, I’d be mostly biased towards Burton, I hate that he’s leaving.

Tmay gets used in the forward rotation regularly and he also gives the Hookers a rest if needed. This is main role of the 14 in our team.

Burton and Kenny will be the ones going back to cup when Api and Dylan are fit.

Facts of life. May is a brilliant 14. Covers all the backline spots and the forwards too, Prop might be a slight struggle.

Call me troll all you like mate. Water of a ducks back to me.

Kenny has played 80 every game.. api plays 80 when fit. Yeo plays 80. He comes on and plays the 3rd half link man with the occasional hit up don't call it for what it's not. He has good vision and versatility. Occasionally fills in at 9 if Kenny or api is gassed which isn't often. Kenny hasn't looked close to gassed yet and we've had some big games.

In a big game and Nathan or Jerome or anyone in the backs went down... I'd prefer Burton at 14 if he's not starting. If a forward goes down a benchie can cover that. If hooker goes down then Burt's would have to step up but I'd rather him have to step up and play hooker rather than 7luai 6tmay because nath goes down if tmays 14.

Anyway the good thing about a forum like this is we can all have an opinion. Sure I might think you can be biased sometimes with your opinion on tmay but I don't think your a troll.

For the most part we share the same opinion of tmay, very very good player. If push come to shove I'd just pick Burton at 14 over him if Burton isn't in the 13.

You'd think we have to go through Storm in the in the finals at some point so we need Staines on the wing to mark up against JAC and keep him in check when it matters like he did earlier in the year. As much as I'd like him at FB I think it's better to keep him on his wing for now in preparation.

Just quietly Martin showing some decently quick hands for a run hard tackle hard forward in the set up for the try where Staines broke some Raiders dude's ankles in the corner. Probably doesn't trust himself to pass that last year under pressure. Good to see.

Once Edwards & Api are back, I'd have Burton at left centre, Crichton at right centre and Kenny on bench instead of May. Nothing against Mom but I think that gives our strongest side.

Surprised Burton wasn't used in general play kicking given the amount of pressure the Raiders were sending at Cleary.
Capewell at centre as cover? He was good when QLD had momentum. As soon as NSW got some momentum and played off the back of it the backs were scoring at will down his side. We can only play him at centre during easy games. Any tough games and he's going to get shown up for his lack of agility and acceleration.

It's like when we had Tyrell Fuimaono play centre. Search Cody Walker Origin try and you'll see an example of what I mean. When things are going our way it's fine we can play whoever in the centres. Billy Burns, May, Capewell, even Yeo can go back there. We've roasted teams with them playing centre but against any opposition that puts up a fight or is better it's rocks and diamonds at best.
