Anyone know the reason for the black armbands ? Cook looked to the heavens when he scored one of his tries…
A worrying first half hour on the back of Bulldog enthusiasm; their pin point kicking game (borrowed from Penrith’s GF win) which sustained pressure in their favour; and an organisation from us that lacked purpose.
Marshall-King in the bin changed the game by allowing us to oil the gears. With that opportunity to make the great bulk of our plays more effective, the Bulldogs were finished – as seen by the second half demonstration of what Souths are capable of.
Pleasing to see Knight make consistent imapct off the bench as well as Taaffe learning to go to ground on first contact after taking a high ball. However, 3 bombs allowed to bounce is a worry.
Considering the intercept try loss to Brisbane and the field goal loss to Storm, it’s been a good start to the year when expectations were we’d be a little rusty early in the season with Bennett, Reynolds, Gagai, Su'A, Mago, Marsters being regulars who exited the club – while having Mitchell on suspension.
