The refs killed us again. They laid all over us every tackle. Typical Cummins and ? Mansour will have to go out of position too many times. At least it was a better team effort until the lop sided second half referring.

Absolute bullshit. I know you hate the coach going on 7 years now. But youre constantly going on about him never making changes or dropping players yet he has done so several times in soon to be 6 games.

Hetherington was picked Round 1. He was then dropped. He was in our top 17 and lost his spot.

Fuimaono was originally part of his top 17 and was dropped.

Edwards has been dropped. After being moved from fullback and given a second chance.

Sele was stood down for a minor issue when we could really use him.

For someone scared to drop players he has made a lot of changes and been fiddling with our bench all year. He's now fiddling with hooker and wing also. Look at our results last week in reserve grade and at oyr top 30 depth... how many more changes can we make that actually improve us?

Edit
Ofcourse theres onfield changes like Tamou as captain. Moving Jimmy and Cleary etc. He's not just sitting back hoping it comes good. He's trying to fix things. Failing so far. But not through refusal to make chsnges

How much footy has Fuimano missed this year? Needs gametime.

Missing recovery isn't a minor thing.

In Ivan Cleary's last 17 games as coach across the Tigers and Panthers, his teams have scored 124 second half points (7.29 pg) and conceded 263 (15.47 pg).

I think he needs to figure out fitness.

On the plus side of things Martin had a great 2nd game and Grant played well.
The backline once again let’s down the forwards with the ill timed errors, and Mansours shooting out in defence cost us 2 tries.

This is the type of game that only happens when the refs throw competitive integrity out the window for entertainment purposes, Cronulla constantly held us down for as long as possible because they knew the refs wouldn’t blow the whistle, I guess that’s just one thing we need to learn to do ourselves although some of the decisions that went against us were a joke as usual, Cummins should never ref a game for us again its so obvious how bias he is.

With Cronulla having all the ball in the 2nd half as well as Penrith failing to slow the game down at all we were destined to lose this game.

I like DWZ but he’s prone to being a hothead sometimes, Cleary needs to tell him to pull his head in.
Judging by what the TAB were offering at HT, the sharkies fans would have made a motza. Especially the PM.

Egan was gassed. Can understand why he was taken off. It didn't work out well though. Katoa looks fat.

We're all unfit and slow. We were sitting ducks in that final 10. Any game where possession goes against us in the second half will go exactly like that. As certain as we would run down teams in the final 20 last year. The reverse will happen predictably this year.

We find a way to take ourselves out of the game every single time.
Smashed on the penalties again, stupid errors and look very unfit.
You can’t win without the ball and we seem to be the masters of giving away possession.
It’s going to be a long year.

We missed 50 tackles...you don't win games like that

So someone needs to shout out the riot act to them instead of pussy-footing around instead of thinking things will simply click together.

The hard reality is that some players are simply not playing to their potential. I hope they have been given a f**king good kick up the arse by the club collectively. If they don't respond, drop to reserve grade for those who deserve it.

For what it's worth, we are still going to get shafted, one way or another.

We all can see the culprits yet they stay in

Brain snaps. MWZ's probably doesn't matter, but Dallin and Maloney are f**king morons. I get it, your brother copped a slightly cheap shot, but you turned a game we had in the bag on its head because you have the self control of that fat kid from Wonka. And Jimmy. f**k me dead. Do you have to deliberately entangle yourself on every f**king play the ball? Even on the 5th tackle on your own goal line after we'd defended multiple sets there? The game was in the balance you godamn genius.

Absolute chess championship rank revolting stupidity.

f**k sake.
Maloney is still is playing for the Sharks. That how it goes these days.

Forget this season, it's over. Rabbitohs and Raiders coming up. They'll be 2 and 6 and without the talent and depth to make a recovery to make the 8, which gets boring anyway because they can't reach a prelim final anyway. Unforgivable loss tonight. I hate that place- the Sutherland Shire, even though I've never really been there. I just don't like the look of the people.

It takes a special talent to take a side that was in the semi's three years in a row and the fittest side in the comp and turn them into an error strewn, bunch of knacker bags who can't run out of sight on a dark night. Forget the influence of the refs. the Sharks run around us repeatedly. Why? Because we are unfit, slow and stupid (hence the multiple penalties).

68 missed & ineffective tackles vs 19 for the Sharks.
Average set distance is 44m Sharks vs 35.6m Panthers.
44 tackle breaks Sharks vs 14 for Panthers.

Why? Unfit and playing basic one out football that teams find easy to stop.

I know its only six rounds, but turn the oven off now. The goose is cooked.

Game was in control. When Dwz made a break then gave away a penalty it flipped the coin. That was the end.

Playing to safe for mine. No spark. Bloody one of the most exciting sides is by far the most boring now. Missing Peachey big time. If could of signed him and had let Mansour go.

Possession was 50-50 in the first half. Overall 60-40, so we only had 30% in the second half, and with a 78% completion rate. Even the Roosters and Storm could not win games of football with 30% possession in the second half. An awful lot of six agains close to our line.

Completely agree. That is exactly what has happened. We have bulked up too much in the off season at the expense of cardio fitness.

The only thing we can hope for is that we become fitter as the season progresses.

So unlike the Saints who normally come out at the start of the season a million miles an hour, and burn out by mid way through the year, we slowly build fitness over the year and peak at the end. I hope that is the logic behind what has happened. Otherwise we simply aren’t training cardio hard enough.
