Round 6 vs Sharks

I'm glad I'm not the only 1 saying it this week. Game changed when Katoa came on. His service looked better this week but he either doesn't know how to tackle or he's so unfit that his effort is gone after 5 minutes. Egan should have been back on after the Sharks penalty try as it was blatant that Katoa couldn't keep up.

I couldn't believe Grant came back on for Martin - RCG was shot at the time but we replace the young, fit rookie. Just f**king amazing. And then we finally bring Martin back on for RCG in the final minute! What the actual f**k!

Obviously brains are in short supply in the WZ genes. I'll put MWZ's down to inexperience - no excuse for DWZ. The sooner he moves back to the wing, the better. He's just too f**king dumb and not quick enough or a ball player to make a success of FB in the NRL.

2nd half kicking game was atrocious. But at 20-6 defence should be able to get the result.

Ivan's got some explaining to do as to how he has so quickly f**ked this team over. I'll give him a clue - soft preseasons with soft forwards being happy is not a good thing.

He needs to be straight out dropped for that indiscretion. Make an example of him so the players, especially the ones that are always making the dumb decisions, think about their actions.

Of all the losses, this is a very hard one to swallow.

DWZ has always had this in his game but after 100 1st grade games spanning 5 odds years he is still doing it. It is a part of him that looks as though it cannot be coached out of him so we should look to a future without him. Cannot have that from a senior player in a pivotal position.

Which is why I said not to move him. He was ordinary on the wing now with the pressure the brain explosions follow

The penalty try was a huge turning point. They run it on the last, we shut them down we get the ball in good field position either by handover or forcing them into a defensive kick. They don’t score there I have no doubt we hold on and win. They did and it was all one way traffic from there with there tails up.

We need someone with speed/power/footwork that can create from nothing, or get us out of trouble/finish off opportunities. In the past we had Michael Jennings. Then we had Tyrone Peachey. Now we have nobody -

You do have the guy that ticks those boxes dont you?.....only he has to wait his turn in reserve grade

It should have been coached out of him by Cleary by now. I do realise that sledging could have been going on 100% during this game and it would have been in poor taste in reference to what is going on off field. But players need to ignore this shit if this was a case.

There is no doubt it was a fair penalty try but the sad thing is we had defended very well for five tackles and they were still in there own half. The rest is history, but I repeat we shut that last tackle play down we win.

I’d love to see when during the game we missed those tackles. I suspect the majority were in the last 20 minutes.

There are missed tackles due to poor technique and then there are missed tackles due to being gassed. I am sure most of our missed tackles were in the latter category. As soon as possession goes us against us later in games we don’t have the endurance to come back.

Fox sports stats have the half break down. These are 1st half. Has 24 for 2nd half

Whare/Egan for Katoa were both handled poorly by Ivan.

Yeo inevitably goes to centre. But not against the fastest player on the field (Xerri). Put Blake back on the left where he had the best year of his career in 2018.

Egan was excellent, there was no need for the interchange.

I’m over video refs, and Cummins.
Perhaps Gus should blow his top about how Penrith is treated by the referees time and again. Get lots of media scrutiny of Cummins and his record against Penrith!
Maybe, just maybe something positive may happen!
I don’t think any other club would put up with the refereeing we cop!
