And like I said, him running wide off the ruck with his blistering speed might have have some difference. Yes, maybe he was stuck running it up in the middle, I hope they can utilize him in that position in the future.
No argument from me. I was just saying he played well last night with the role he was given.

On a positive note last night how good was liam martin he looks like the new adam docker. For a guy his size he was playing well above his weight not like rcg. After an observation on last nights game campbell gillard katoa and mansour need to be dropped.Grant and martin have to remain in the 17.Bring in brian too on 1 wing maybe jed Cartwright or matheson johns in the centres for whare and sele in for katoa we dont need 2 hookers.

Hopefully winterstein will be back in a week or 2 he adds some size to our pack and can work the right edge while kikau works the left.

Gus is primarily responsible for years of poor roster management. He has got to go even though he DID make the right call with Bennett, the board had seen years of Gus's recruitment and coaching appointment fall flat so they had little trust in him and here we are. Whilst were are at it that idiot Chairman needs to be ousted.

This club is a shambles.
You are way off beam with this. We have made the semi's three years in a row. We have built a good roster of local juniors that need supplementing with some external recruits. We have had success in the lower grades and still are.

We may have lost Peachey and Merrin, but they wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference. Imagine how unfit Peachey and Merrin would be under Dave's mate. The local pie shop would be rubbing their hands with glee.

The only thing that has changed is the coach. Gus didn't pick this coach, in fact he sacked him once. Our numpty chairmen thought he knew better and rehired him. I don't know on what basis he considers Cleary to be better than Bennett and Maguire, but he obviously he knows something about football Gus doesn't.

If we miss the 8 this year O'Neill should walk.
It would have helped if people in high places in the club had talked to each other before this decision was made final. I'm not sure what credentials this O'Neill has to be deciding who should be the club's head coach, apparently immune from challenge from anyone. It's becoming more and more clear we'd have been better off keeping Hook and saving several hundred k.

This smacks of the sort of thing that used to go on in the 1970's, eg making Roy Masters coach but having a puppet coach in order to placate the factions.

Besides the halves, most teams have a 3rd play maker in either their hooker or fullback.
We are lacking in that area,I think we need to utilize Luai to fill that void.

well its the next day what did we learn
The team is the most unfit in the nrl
this has led to other issues during the game missed tackles poor discipline
poor interchange management combined with fitness killed us at the end of game
can this be fixed short term no long term yes
positives
60 minutes we looked dam good
Liam martin has a good motor can play longer minutes
mwz had a good game gave us drive coming off the line
egan was good best game this yea
I still think the bones of a top 8 is there no one will make origin so we could bounce back games there
UP THE Panthers

Wel i hope theres some good performers in tomorrow's canterbury cup game could be a centre or fullback spot up for grabs also some bench spots.Anyone reckon we would be better off putting dallin in the centres to cover whare and bringing aekins in at fullback

I'd play Cartwright at centre tomorrow, with a view to 1 Aekins/Edwards 2 MWZ 3 Cartwright 4 Blake 5 DWZ, Mansour rested to get his shoulder right.

For me the last 3 years is a waste if we don't kick on. We still make rookie errors yet have no rookies in the side. We aren't a top 4 side yet have no cap space. That tells me we back the wrong players and poorly managed the cap

Not sure Cartwright has the pace. I'd play Aekins at centre tomorrow to see how they go. With Jed the fallback plan

Ivan Cleary was asked in the press conference if would've been a better idea to move Blake to Xerri's side due to Xerri's pace.

Cleary responded that he isn't accountable to that journalist and what he does with the left edge is his decision. He then got up and walked out.
