Round 7 v Roosters

Robbo's post game presser said everything you need to know about his mindset and why he is a winner.

Questioned about the surface, he reverted back to his "team" and brushed off excuses. Left that to the "experts" on grounds. He was succinct, focussed, talked about his pride and challenges ahead and thats it. No BS or hyperbole.

I wasn't sold on him a few years back. Simple, I was wrong. He seems to me to be the type of coach players would walk on fore for. Great squad of course, but he has been able to get the best out of each and every one of them.

Let alone making the Moz brother look 10 years younger.

Losing yesterday would have been acceptable by most. Not so for him.
And that is why Easts are back to back premiers and looking well on track for 3 in a row. Amazing effort these days

A good roster still needs a competent coach. Not only at training but on game day as well.
McGregor has had a great roster for at least 3 years during his tenure including the "Team he always wanted".
The one we have now isn't too dusty either.
By comparison, we have crashed and burned and Robbo has won 2 titles as is looking like a third this year..
Everything in relative.

Agreed. Anyone who joins the Roosters keeps prattling about “standards” that Robinson expects. He has set the bar at a level that’s good enough to win premierships, and if you don’t meet those standards, you get shown the door or you’re coached to be better. And no matter who wears the jersey, those standards keep getting met.

Even if you lose Latrell Mitchell and Cooper Cronk, it’s business as usual.

When I’ve watched our team over the last few years, and constantly see Aitken’s misreads in defence, Rava’s dropped balls, Lafai’s stupid offloads, Hunts kicks that go dead, Friz running wrong lines, game after game, what standards exist at our joint?

Standards good enough for the bottom 4 that’s what, And still our coach hasn’t been shown the door.

7 years now.

Titans & Warriors will fight that out, but I do believe our team won’t be too far above them on the table around 14th.
Mary will claim it’s an improvement on 2019 and the departure of Graham, Luke & Saab had a real affect on our playing group. Same shit just a different excuse & year.

Bottom 4 or so I think Coffs.

Thankfully, no spoon, but thats the only upside.

Hopefully, a decision on changing coaches has already been made. However, until the board direction and agenda changes, I think we will remain a mediocre club. Our problems are more than Mary.

That must have been a frustrating game for you Saints fans. Handling errors really cost you.
Still, Saints played much better against a class side than I was expecting.
As an outsider looking in, I'd be dropping Hunt. Do you have any young halves who could step up?

Latrell was no great loss for Easts, where he had decent players around him who made him look good.
He's done little this year and his game against Penrith was mediocre.

We resorted to the same old rubbish in the second half-one off running with no passing. So easy to defend against. The rorters forwards seemed to be able to always pass the ball when theyre getting tackled. Our forwards show no intention of doing this.you can see it by how they run. Surely any coach could see this yet its the same every week
The half time instructions from the coach, safety first.
