Whare has great defense and brings some experience. While the teams winning I would keep him.
He himself has battled injuries and hasn't had a good run. He is 30 so not finished. Give him 12 straight games and he may surprise everyone.

I dunno.

In the past 3 years he’s played 90% of our games, the injuries are mostly from 4-5 years ago now.

Ivan pretty much said players would be rotated. I have no doubt when it is his turn Burton or Naden will do so much better. He is busted

So much salt from the bunny fans on the nrl instagram posts.

They were found wanting most of the game. Walker and Reynolds tried but Mitchell went missing. Honestly think they will struggle to make the 8.
They had their chances, I think we are the cause of their performance last night though.

We seem to be working harder than a lot of teams, putting on constant pressure and forcing errors.

Cleary and luai have been kicking really well, trapping teams in their 20 as well as getting repeat sets, but not giving many 7 tackle sets.
We are exhausting teams on the way to our wins.

Luai did a really nice kick last night where instead of going for distance, he nicely chipped it over the top allowing for the ball to bounce and the defence more time to get there. Bigger isn’t always better.

I think it was Fittler who said Panthers were doing a lot more work off the ball than Souths which would support your comment.

Good comment and I was thinking something similar when I was listening to the commentary last night. The commentary was along the lines of "if only South's would stop making errors, they can win this game". From what I was seeing, we were ripping into tackles, moving up reasonably quickly and our two props and two wingers were proving impossible to stop making metres. We made 5 metres per set more and 109 more post contact metres. Our kick return metres were higher, our play the balls were quicker. Our kick chase nullified Latrell Mitchells undoubted running skills.

We were just more intense everywhere across the field and that forced them into making errors. South's didn't play badly, but we are quite a different team from last year. Effort is our mantra and you will have to work hard to beat us and be prepared to get tackled hard and roughed up. I expect that the week after playing us, our opposition is sore and tired in their next match. The Knights circa 89-95 used to be like that. You might win but they would bash you up and the next week you would be flat.

Very happy with the win. Hopefully, more to come. Still, room for improvement but I like the way the team is heading.

And all this with virtually no restarts. Last night was 2-7 making it something like 9-28 in in 5 rounds.

Neither should play.

The issue is where is Naden better suited? IMO hes a potentially great winger and a usually serviceable centre.

Mansour is definitely less shit than Whare though. No question about it.

Naden had 21 runs last night. Mansour is averaging 19.

Crichton is ave 9 runs. Had 11 last night

So we went left more. Still didn’t have long range tries from Naden that Mansour wouldn’t of scored. So Whare goes for now and Mansour gets time for us to find another winger

Mansour and Whare have had a great run here, they’ve both been mainstays since what 2012/2013? Their time is just about up now, neither of them is good enough to hold out Naden imo.

Yeah but you won’t lose both in the same year though. Don’t want total rookies there

It took Souths 50 minutes to score. A common theme of the year is our defence is much better. Said the same last week and it seems consistent. No longer giving away bad overlaps or terrible defensive lapses.

It also took a few legups & around 30 tackles in a row to break our line. It's not that long ago that if a team had a set inside our 20 they were odds on to score. Ivan & staff deserve a big thumbs up for the resilience they have instilled into the team.

The big I has form in this regard, most especially the 2018 Tigers. They did fade as the season went on though, so we can only hope that doesn't happen now. He's got a much stronger forward pack to work with now.
