I'm my dreams that is.

Very long road back to the 8 at this point. Have to start somewhere.

Something has to start working on our edges. The gameplan simplified. We had no issues getting up field through the Dolphins but couldn't ice anything just like the week prior.

I'm keen to see a smarter and more measured performance from our key players and some improvement from our edges.

Cleary trying to do it on his own puts alot of pressure on himself. I've come to the conclusion we will not make the 8. I want that Stadium to hurry up and be built and for God sake we could have started the year there as nothing had been done. We have to let a couple players go and recruit well.

Top 4 is 99.9% shot.

Top 8 is still a good chance. We can build throughout the year. But it's obvious we have problems that won't be fixed in a week.

Leota and Tago are undoubtedly top 17 players when they’re performing. But they have been underperforming more often than not for far too long. We are losing with them so dropping them can’t hurt too much.

This team will lose. But so will one with Tago and Leota in it. Hopefully being axed is the rocket they need. Our depth is so bad thag the guys stepping up don't really seem likely to help fix anything. But hopefully they are decent stop gaps until Bizza is back and Leota and Tago wake up to themselves.

its not just them underperforming. But they’re the two who have done so most consistently.

We don't have time to build. We need big crazy changes

Ivan trying to turn Dyl into some Moylan level ball player is ridiculous. It goes against everything he is about.

Yeah I think Tago needs to be dropped. Leota to be benched. Sorenson and Papali'i to be switched to create a bit more threat on the edge. I don't think we're a world away, our gameplan just really falls apart when sides can just shift and slice through our edges at will and release any pressure/put us under scoreboard pressure. Patch up our edge defence and a lot of things come back about why our game is so suffocating. Surely you gotta try the McLeans together for some sort of combination. I'd certainly be open to any of Alamoti/Cole/Garner plugging into the right centre slot to try something different.

Edwards, McLean, McLean, Alamoti, Kepoa/To'o/Jenkins, Cole, Cleary, Smith, Sommerton, Sorenson, Garner, Martin, Yeo, Talagi, Leota, Henry, Papali'i

We do actually. The goalposts have shifted.

We need to win 11/18 to put us in contention for the 8.

And big crazy changes seldom work. We need thoughtful changes.

As alarming as our defence has been on the edges it's our left edge attack that has me rattled. We look impotent. Jenkins has looked the best through the hands at centre so I'd play him there. Pick the best metre eater we have on the wing until To'o returns and try something different in the pack.

And on top of that the key players in our spine need to simplify their game. We aren't even building pressure. Cute scrum plays are an example. We'd do well to copy a boring Raiders style gameplan with the ball until our confidence and form returns.

Just figured I'd throw my 2 cents in about our current situation.

Honestly I just can't be upset right now with how good our last 5 years have been, I think if we got the spoon for the next 5 years I wouldn't give a f**k, maybe that doesn't make me a true fan around these parts but that's just how I feel.

Personally I don't see the point at singling out individual players at this point. The whole team is so obviously tired since we've built our entire style on this idea of playing perfect defensive football for 5 years straight, we never were a good attacking team in my eyes we would always just out energy teams for 60 minutes then run over the top of them when they were f**ked. Obviously it worked well but this type of football is super hard to keep up and maintain and the fact we did it good enough to make 5 grand finals and win 4 straight is a ridiculous notion and something any teams fans would dream of, and we got to live it. I just think this is the year where it will all catch up with us.

Add that onto the fact with the amount of talent we lost not just this year but ever since our domination began and I think this is just reality smacking us in the face. Maybe we have the best junior system in the world but I think it's kind of silly to think constantly dropping 18 year old kids into first grade and expect them to hit the ground running and the team would continue on as if nothing has changed is a bit naive.

Anyway I don't really see how we turn it around from here, we don't look like 50 percent of the team we were but it is what it is. You can argue we have a good core of players still and we shouldn't be under-performing as we are with them and that is a fair point, but at the end of the day rugby league is a team game and you are only as good as you're weakest link, and I don't really think anyone has looked 100 percent except maybe Liam Martin lol.

Goes to show there's something there. They should probably simplify things. Just run tackle and the points will come through pressure.

Ivan will stick relatively solid imo. Cole for Talagi. Maybe Kepaoa for one of the guys on the left. A rocket for Martin and Tago behind the scenes. Thatll be it.

He doesn't usually do massive, sweeping changes. He's a stability guy.
Very true, but this might have to change. It doesn't haven't to be drastic personal, but maybe positions.

Ie. Garner on left centre
Alamoti on right Jesse partnering him
