Roosters rule

This proves that gould was a bum and has left penrith with a bum team
- he knew it & got out early to save face...

I don't agree with that.
On paper Penrith have a top 6 roster maybe top 4 if things click. There are a lot of weak squads atm.
The problem is Penrith have a bog average coach that lacks an attacking game plan and is poor when it comes to off field discipline.
Penrith are not a bottom 4 side but under Ivan they are playing like one.

The strip rule was a bad change.
I bet we are the first team in years that has had a try disallowed because the player was a metre in front of the play the ball.

Canberra were penalized for the exact same thing in the same half when their player was away.

This might be the worst performance by any Panthers team I have ever seen. It’s clear that we have too many dumb footballers in our team and they either choose not to respect the football or just aren’t smart enough to realise how to play a proper game of Rugby League.
Its the same players that got us to the finals the last few years.
So what else have we changed?

Depends what you class lack of effort. Every line break there was no support it was like waiting for others to do it. No bodies on the line in defence

There is no sugar coating the performance which was very, very poor overall.

It is so disappointing to start in such a positive fashion but our inability to convert field position into points is a killer. Let’s face it converting your opportunities builds confidence and a team tends to build on that and more often than not goes on with the job. Us on the other hand butcher’s opportunities time and time again and that is a confidence/momentum killer. We score first today and the result could have been different but they score of a kick on there first opportunity and you just knew what the outcome was going to be.

In what way?
Have you seen it before?
The stats say our play the balls were 4 secs whilst theirs were 3. I think play the ball penalties were even. Sound fair!
Have I seen the downtown rule before? Yes, it’s a pretty common thing. And their play the balls being quicker shows they beat us in the ruck. You’re delusional because you think Penrith only ever lose because of the referees. You can ignore the mediocrity of the team and its coach as much as you want, but it makes you delusional.

Just turned on the Manly v Bulldogs game and the first comment from the commentators I hear is Martin Taupau has over 100 running metres in the first 18 minutes on the contest. We are deficient in a few areas but this is a major flaw in our top 17 a quality front rower who eats the metres, lot’s of carries who can offload effectively.

What else is new? Though to be fair, the reggies aren’t a bunch of weak, gutless cats.
not fair to call them that. Several players are of reserve grade standard and are playing as such.We need to release a few to sign higher standard playes

daily reminder that we opted for ivan cleary (0 premierships) over wayne bennett (7 premierships? can’t f**king remember that’s how many he has)
This is what I don't get. We supposedly had Bennett, we also had IC from 2021 so NC wouldn't have left so why wouldn't we take Bennett for 2 seasons. Dumb. Dumb
Dumb.

But why do that, when we can overrate and overpay our average juniors instead?

The injury sustained by Isaah Yeo just highlights how inept our attack is inside our opponents 20 metre zone. We see this same play time and time again week in week out with absolutely no return. Fourth tackle a couple of metres out, dummy half picks it up one pass left or right to a forward straight into the line, same outcome only on this occasion Yeo will be missing for an extended period.

DaveMc, my passion for the team may overtake my judgement sometimes, but I don’t blame the refs for all our losses. But calling a spade a spade do you honestly think that they get even rub of the green all the time. When Bennett had the same stats in the play the ball he cried and the next week against Penrith every 50-50 call went one way.
The refs didn’t cost the game today, but most of the 50-50 calls went one way. That is a fact.
When you are down nothing goes your way.

It was 5-1 linebreaks our way. That doesn't include the Aekins one when he pretty much went across field waiting for support. Mansour who many on here rightfully call slow makes a break and nothing

How would that fix our roster at all? This roster has gotten consistently weaker each year since 2016. We need a cleanout of overpaid players... of which there are many.

Until know injuries haven't been an issue. Several coaches are doing far better with inferior rosters.

15 other clubs would love to have origin winning halves pairing

We definitely have lost a few of the players that have helped us get to the finals the last few years.

And for the players that we still have that have been around for that time too, I can’t really explain what it is. Whether they have read too much into there own hype and aren’t putting in the same efforts in all facets of the game or something else I really don’t know.
