Round 8 vs Sharks

The obstruction rule is a complete and utter mess. It's a lottery at the moment. The on-field referees just send it up to the box and let someone else deal with it.

And it's made worse by the fact that the kick-chase "blocker" thing is getting more and more blatant. Is that not clear obstruction as well?

They need to sort this shit out.

We arent going to win games with such a small pack. We should have won that game but every 50/50 went against us. Not that it should have mattered. Our pack is too soft with Segs, Kingston and Peacher sharing the field at once. Thrown in Docker and its just too small.playing above their weights is one thing, but not having weight to throw around is costing us. If we don't have Mansour and Idris we are going nowhere fast.

Peach can't be in the team until Kingston is gone. He has to come in for Docker or Segs and to not have 3 90kg forwards on at once.

This is exactly our f**king problem fix this shit we win most games.

It's just bad f**king coaching.

It was a clear obstruction. Docker stopped in defence line & Moylan threw it from his outside shoulder. Dive or no dive it was no try. More concern was the Simmons 'foot on touch'

I think so too, but that doesn't mean the whole thing is not still a mess.

Did Penrith deserve to win to today? At best it was line ball as to who was the better side.

Cronulla are running last, regarded as having the least attractive roster, have a fill-in coach, and lost their most important player and playmaker during the game.

Maybe instead of looking at the referees there should be a bit of soul searching.

As for the coach making that the suggestion that players are being rewarded for not making legitimate efforts - it may be a true statement but as a first grade coach perhaps he would be better focusing on his role, especially the attacking part of his coaching.

You won't get an argument from me there. They have a guideline to use so regardless of dives the right decision should be made. Don't know how else to fix it.

Other issues are too blame for the loss. We were up 14-12. Had the ball 20 out & Mansour drops it 1st tackle errors at cruical times hurt us. As does having a tiny team thankfully we won't have any players in there.

I thought the Sharks were terrible. And we still let them win.

the obstruction rule is not the problem its the lack of knowledge by the decoy runners. All docker had to do was take a few more steps but instead stoped as a blocker to Graham .A clear penalty every time
The real joke was the linesman not going upstairs for the Simmons try.At least it was line ball and linesman go upstairs on nearly all tries but not this time

In your opinion, did the Panthers deserve to win that game?

I say & have said. We are too defensive. Aside from the Parra lose we score 4 tries minimum we win.

Again today get a 4th try we win. Stupid errors and penalties & basic attack is killing us.

Great defence is fine but didn't stop the strip on Seg or Moylan being beaten in the air. So we need more in attack.

The Robson & Carney tries were 50/50 but we should of scored 2 more tries in the 1st given the ball we had.

Very frustrating game. I don't think we did deserve to win, considering all the tries we let in.

At least we are in games, but it is frustrating we can't seem to close them out, or kick on when we do get some good momentum.

Would love another look to see if Simmons was in touch or not.

Given the rules, unfortunately Docker should have been penalised.

A couple of points that have not seem to be mentioned:

- Gordon slapped the ball out of Segeyaro's hands. To me, this looked like it was propelled out of Segeyaro's hands towards the Sharks line, and then it hit him in the stomach/leg. Why was that not a knock on against Gordon?
- Soward and Wallace have impressed me, they lead the kick chase well, however, it was really frustrating to see a lack of 'killer instinct' or leadership when Segeyaro made an awesome run, and we went on the solid attack, but then we did sweet FA in the set, and the the Sharks stormed down the ground after that and got a penalty goal, I think to level it up. We just don't seem to capatlise on our opportunities and put teams to sleep early.

Still, early in the season and I think we will get better, but still frustrating to lose that one.
