"We did have it when we had Norman and Hunt playing at 6 and 7. We just need to get some of the guys to do a bit more to help out."

Aaaah DD, I see you you are missing the "glory days" when Corey Norman played for us. Has the wheel come full circle, are the fans finally realising what we had and so callously, nay, foolishly threw away? 😂🤣😂🤣

Not so sure Fox offers any relief from the bias- Blocker Roach didn't try to hide his Tigers colours during his commentary on Sunday's game.

True on the weekend red but I expect that. Thought Gas was as unbias at times when he was there.

I'm quite enjoying the listening to the other commentators.

Love Vossey, Brent Speed and Ennis knows the game well and don't mind when he gets excited.

As much as people hate Gus Gould he predicted a Dragons to score first try after the Tigers dominated the first 25 minutes. He said he has seen this before and so have we ! He is the best in getting the "feeling "of a game. That Thompson character annoys me and his Tigers bias was obvious. Like Vossey as well and respect Alexander & Ennis & miss Sterling. Roach best of a bad lot and doesn't give a stuff in calling us the saints most times !

Why hasn't Sowie arranged for Hunt to do this? I noticed that Sowie was in the coaches box on Anzac Day so he sees the games and would certainly be assisting Hook in some sort of capacity so why then isn't Hunt standing much further back to do his kicking? Many here have said that Hunt needs another guy to help with the kicking in general play. So why isn't that been arranged? Surely someone in the team can do this! A lot of the other teams have 2 guys, some have even more and it allows the attacking team to have variation.

Yes exactly, Bud Sullivan.

Exactly the rule was brought in for when fullbacks jumped in the air to take a bomb that they wouldnt have their legs taken from under them and putting them in a dangerous position, now they have decided that if you have your feet 5cm off the ground and get tackled its a penalty, f**king stupid, What Lomax did, didnt put anyone in danger..
I cant see what he can do in normal time when jumping for the ball aboveand brushing another player. What happens next... he falls touching the player. he cant disappear.
I dont think he tackled him in the air at all, but maybe I am being bias

Just read this. I forgot Kasey Badger was the touch judge in the game v tigers and her hubby Gavin Badger is employed by the tigers and is in the tigers box.
Now I know why a few things were missed favouring the tigers..
Had black and gold eyes.

When opposing players go up reaching for a bomb, they all generally end up "touching" each other whether it is in goal or before. The guy who doesn't catch it in the end can't help but "fall" against the guy who does. Lomax missed the catch and slid down the body of the Tigers forward and knocked the ball out which to me is a fair "touch". It wasn't a tackle in mid air as such imo.

Well, well, well. Bias cannot be rubbed out completely unfortunately. Greg Hartley was a staunch Bulldogs supporter but still maintained proper adjudication when he refereed games in which the Bulldogs played I think. I would like to also think that the other referees are doing the right thing if they support a team, but you just never know. We have all seen forward passes "blatantly" missed by many refs - Harrigan I think in the 1999 grand final. Officials I feel sure have a dislike for certain teams.

Kasey Badger trying "to do the right thing" for dear ol' hubby should not have been the touch person for the game in my opinion.

I do remember that match officials have to sign a conflict of interest form. and yes you are correct she shouldn't have been officiating the game or in reality any west tigers games.

This is just amateur hour by the NRL. How can they possibly appoint a match official to a game that includes a team where their partner is employed. While not casting any assumptions on the integrity of Kasey, it just puts her under unnecessary pressure where every 50 50 decision would be scrutinised if the Tigers got up due to a dodgy decision, especially if she made it like letting an obvious forward pass go. So easily solved by swapping a touchie from another game. If they can't get simple things like that correct, how can they run a competition?

Excuse my ignorance on this rule, does it only apply to a defending side, if so Lomax was a defender in this case.
I believe there was a rule change made to protect both attacking and defending players. But Lomax couldn't evaporate into thin air and posed no danger. Protecting the tackled player was the original intention of the rule, so the League are losing their way on this one. Needs more tweaking.

Hunt is an attacking half-back. He wants to be in the line so he can take his options. It's just a strategy. While pressure is getting placed on him, it also sees the defence rushing up. Both our tries came as a direct result of this.

A number of years ago on 2MMM, Harrigan admitted to refereeing players by reputation. Sterlo was outraged.

Very nice read, thanks Willow. I like this part about Harrigan -

"Nevertheless, it appears that Bills' reign is drawing to a close. He has upset just too many people too many times. Anecdotal evidence suggests that some Rugby League fans simply refuse to watch a game where Bill is in attendance. The word is that many are simply sick to death of watching a referee shove the game aside and take centre stage."

The dramas still exist to this day about referees taking centre stage when they should only be seen and not heard and not even noticed.

It is a good strategy. There have been many times that Hunt has kicked from further back and I guess that our coaching staff want Hunt to continue in this fashion of playing in the front line. They are the coaches.

At the end of the match between Manly and the wabbits a Souths player went up to the ref and shook his hand whilst enjoying a joke perhaps ?

Who knows what they were giggling about , however it was poor form by the ref who should had walked directly from the field at games end .

Col Pearce , Keith Page would always do just that , walk straight from the field as did all the refs in those years .
