Round 8 vs Tigers

Would be good to see someone else take pressure off Hunt, on last tackle kicks. He can’t do it all alone, then gets rushed, gassed and makes errors.
He gets rushed & has his kicks charged down because we stand "VERY" flat & that is also why every time Sulli gets the ball he has no where to go because the defence already on him.
Hook has lost me with he's lack of foresight. We won't score a point against the Storm.

There is a rule that allows you to strip the ball while preventing a try & that's what he did.
That's what I thought whilst cursing the decision, but apparently that rule has also been changed (per the 9 commentary team).

So, players are just supposed to let the player score? Go figure.

Can I have my game back please. I'm sick of all these bullshit rules, escorts, inside /outside shoulder, block plays, blah blah.

Dead right. The other problem of standing so flat is that our big boppers always come of a standing start and have about 3 paces before they meet the defenders. West players seemed to be coming from way back and had a full head of steam. No wonder we had some leaks in the middle. Great scrambling helped us to get the win though.

Again, we seem to know what should be done. Why don't the coaches and players? It isn't rocket science is it? But who am I to make judgement?

All it takes is for the coaches and players to see how the Panthers and Storm do it and for that matter several other clubs. Just analyse and practise and keep on practising until it can be done down pat, if we had him in our team.

Somebody's a little salty that their A class team is playing like shite.
No chance there is enough in that to be more than a penalty mate.
Lomax barely touches him and we got the win so move on.

Plus Lomax was also in the air playing for the ball. I don’t think what happened is what the point of the rule was
He probably is mate. And if he is, then it helps to get him experience in first grade. But it doesn’t really help the team either. It’s a catch 22 mate. I’m sure Hook knows what he’s doing. It’s worked thus far the last few games.
I think eventually it will be very good for Amone that he played through two winning very close games at 5/8. 1/2 a game and a full game. It will be good experience and beneficial to him in the long term

56 missed tackles and 25 ineffective and we still won. Similar story for 3 weeks now. Are our players lacking strength or is it technique ? Whatever it is we've got a week to fix it or pay the price.
We won yay. I guess it's better than losing, but the way we're playing......only just. Our problems are in the middle of the field in defence and attack. Next week might be a tough watch.
How's Burgess, I thought I saw him on the ground holding his hip, hope he hasn't done something to it or that might be the end of him.
I'm old enough to remember Wazzaball from the 1980s when Warren Ryan coached the Bulldogs during those memorable (not!) grand finals two of which ended up (I think) 7-6 and 6-4. We were on the wrong end of the first scoreline. Suffocating umbrella defence, carpet bombing and power running were his pretty limited game plan. When it was 2-0 for most of the match, it felt like Hook was channelling old Wazza.

Exactly the rule was brought in for when fullbacks jumped in the air to take a bomb that they wouldnt have their legs taken from under them and putting them in a dangerous position, now they have decided that if you have your feet 5cm off the ground and get tackled its a penalty, f**king stupid, What Lomax did, didnt put anyone in danger..

Ho Hum another keyboard hero- Lucky school is back so you can talk to those your own age instead of going onto non kiddy sites and annoying the adults.
I should have just listened to the guys earlier who told us how to block the drivel that comes out of stalins mouth. I guess being unwanted on your own teams forum has left you a bit lost, so you thought you'd come here , and just like a persistent itch on your ass that wont just go away, you thought you'd annoy the forum of a real team, not like the dishonest rabble cheats team that you follow. By now im sure the rest of the forum has you on ignore and ill now join them. I prefer to be with real football followers not trolls from a pretend part of town. And as for "annoying the adults"-my god-get a mirror. Id love to say its been lovely chatting with you but that would be lying

Remember how far back Sowie stood when he kicked. They could never charge his kicks down. Stand further back.

Excuse my ignorance on this rule, does it only apply to a defending side, if so Lomax was a defender in this case.

Easy answer to this is whilst money ball gets you so far ( and was the right thing for us ) you don't get the performance you need to be top 4. Woods , Burgess 5 seasons ago yes but not now. We havent got the speed to threaten on these plays.

While he played better when given some space it is clear Junior is not a playmaker but a running 5/8. The skipper needs to go to hooker with Moses taking junior's spot or do we have a clever playmaker in the lower grades as Sullivan is not one. Perhaps reinvent Tyrell as he has ball skills. I can see a Tyrell/ Junior halves combo working better than the current one.
How many games at 7 have you seen Sullivan play to deduce this ?

Why hasn't Sowie arranged for Hunt to do this? I noticed that Sowie was in the coaches box on Anzac Day so he sees the games and would certainly be assisting Hook in some sort of capacity so why then isn't Hunt standing much further back to do his kicking? Many here have said that Hunt needs another guy to help with the kicking in general play. So why isn't that been arranged? Surely someone in the team can do this! A lot of the other teams have 2 guys, some have even more and it allows the attacking team to have variation.

We did have it when we had Norman and Hunt playing at 6 and 7. We just need to get some of the guys to do a bit more to help out.
