The backs are all having a go, bar Boyd.

Snowden and Willie are putting in. So is House.
Zeb is trying hard but dishing up some bad 1-on-1 missed tackles.
McKinnon is only 20 so I can't be too hard on him.

The rest of them, urgh.

It might be just me... But do we look like a worse team than last year? I know we are missing Kurt and Bedsy, but we have not looked outstanding at any point this year, and we were deadset awful today.

There are a number of players out there phoning it in. None of them deserve Origin selection - not even Aku. The master coach isn't having much effect on them and it is worrying...

We have improved in some areas no doubt, goal line defence for instance. But i agree that plenty of areas look worse. To me it seems like we have kept the error rate and penalties, but lost our exciting expansive game. We swung the ball wide once in the 78th minute?

I hate to question Bennet but im a little baffled when it comes to our tactics today. The roosters had a big aggressive pack while ours was the opposite, yet we kept carting it up one off the ruck, getting belted and losing the ball. Why wouldn't we target their fringes and spin the ball wide? This is where we are stronger than them.

We also missed Bedsy, and Roberts (whilst talented) seems nothing like the organising half we are crying out for. I feel sorry for Mullen.

BTW deadset why are people crucifying Aku and Boyd? They really are the least of our worries, we could have Billy Slater and Jonah Lomu in there spots and it wouldn't make much of a difference really when the forwards are bitching as hard as they are

No idea what Aku has done wrong. I guess that the Jimmy man crush's make it easy to forget the bloke on the other side is doing more with less help inside him.

Also not sure what they wanted from Boyd today either. Boyd playing the ball slow had little bearing on our game today. I would be looking at the blokes missing tackles, dropping balls, making errors and giving away penalties.

Tinkler's patience must now be under serious tension now. A few more losses and who knows what will happen. The club is safe. The rest.......... He is unpredictable.

Tinklers not stupid, clubs take time to build.

However he maybe alarmed about the underwhelming amount of passion that your time is showing at the moment.

Also dropping Tui bloke wasn't great but when your team won by 20 the week before.......

Cuthbertson comming back?

Like I said though Knights have always been probably the most passionate players going around this year u seem lukewarm.

Was at the game today, really not too much to like about it.

I was happy with the scoreline at half time, seeing as how much ball the Roosters had on our line, we defended amazingly well that whole first half and for much of the second half as well.

But you know what really annoys me... We never stop the offloads! EVER! It seriously felt like the Roosters were getting an offload in every set, and we almost never seemed to be able to tackle a guy and actually prevent him from passing. Our defence was totally worn out after all of that.

And why aren't we doing this ourselves? We have guys who can offload the ball, isn't that basically what we brought Cuthbo here to do? He did it once at the beginning of the game and then basically went invisible after that or was on the bench.

Taia's one-on-one attempts are very poor, he let in a try against St George like that too, it's like he can't seem to handle an angled runner. I would like to think he'd be one of the first to go, but Bennett keeps starting him, so maybe he rates him.

What are you on about?

Just had a look at the stats and it's pretty easy to see why we're going as bad as we are, in 9 games off football this year we've only had more possession than the opposition on one occasion, that was against the dogs when we actually looked like a semi decent team. Wayne coaches a very conservative style that is based on limited errors and playing with discipline, we've played with no discipline at all this year and 3 or our wins have been basically just taking our chances more so than the opposition, those 3 wins I'm referring to were the Sharks, Eels and Panthers games. The sharks bombed 1000 tries that game, Parra are a rabble and Penrith had enough opportunities inside our 20 last week to win.
Heaven behold if we stop handicapping ourselves with dumb errors we might be abit more competitive.
It's just hard to believe, the dogs offload at will and throw alot of passes before the line and don't make as many errors as us, the warriors and roosters have lots of offload hungry forwards and also don't make as many errors as us, we just take one out hit ups and manage to still drop the ball 30% of sets

How in hell does a player like Mason who hasn't played football in months, shit all over our other forwards?

Second of all, when is Mullen off contract? Please let the guy go, I can't take much more of his uselessness. Yes he scored a try but that's about all he did right.

Darius Boyd does not want to play for us. He had ample time to ground that ball and he headbutted it instead. Under 5's shit seriously.

There was no enthusiasm out there today whatsoever. There was a scrum feed to us in the second half, in Roosters territory and there was no urgency at all.

Least somebody is making sense.

Aku, Boyd and now Mullen are copping it over that loss...... Really? Do we think our backs lost us that one?

So, the blokes that were telling us to wait till round 10 before saying how f**king bad we are - well next week is round 10. Will be interesting to hear your thoughts after that.

The drop ball is inexplicable. Fix that and at least you can compete with most teams. Otherwise you are just making up the numbers and helping the position of teams like Parra, Penrith and Canberra look better on the ladder.

well, Boyd didn't cost us the game by any stretch but he was very ordinary.

the dropped ball and the penalties have been mentioned.

the forwards sucking has pretty much been a given factor in losses (and victories, lol) for several years bar the occasional game where they dominate.

Agree JD. It would have to be the most ridiculous comment on this thread.

I have been patient with Roberts over the past 2 years but he just does not organise a team. Whether it is lack of confidence or what, with a small pack of forwards, we need an organising half to get the forwards running different lines.

There have been a couple of halves/5/8 in their first year this year who have taken the game by the scruff of the neck. The Souths half and the Dogs 5/8 come to mind.

Roberts if he wants the position needs to do the same quick smart otherwise we need to look elsewhere as he is yet to impress me

Backs arent to blame but there is a few having crisises of confidence, Boyd for one looks like he is way down in confidence.

We just haven't built a winning frame of mind this year, we win one and then drop the next.

Boyd would only be human if he was having second thoughts, the bloke is a winner and comes from clubs with winning cultures.

Right now our pack is getting dominated and until they can hold their own, the backs are passengers.

I will say that I am critical of the backs performance in the opposition 20M, we have zero set plays and our attacking options are invariably wrong.

I was puzzled by the lack of Uate today too. He would have just about gotten a cold out there.
