I'm not a huge stats fan but the stats tell the story here. We had too many miss tackles and let them off load way too much...

The thing about completion rate stats is that it doesn't account for the fact that we usually drop the ball 1st or 2nd tackle

However if you also look at the possession stat, together they show we lost the ball on early tackle counts.

Watching the game on 9 yesterday with dumb shit Gould commentating was annoying as hell.
When he went on after our try about the play a few rucks before...I may be wrong but, I thought the referee played advantage for us as it should have been a penalty, not a knock-on.

Also, anyone know what the mark was on Joeys face?

Apparently he was rescued from the surf with blood coming from his ears over the weekend, and suffered a punctured ear drum so was probably related to that

I think a few people are a being a bit negative regarding the team. We must remember I dont think we have had the same team on for any game this year playing usual positions. One thing with injuries now maybe with what we have they may gel, cant keep shopping and changing, only makes the players confused as to where they stand in the team.

The defense was wonderful against the roosters, no fuel in tank to attack. Got off on wrong foot as usual never recovered. We are still sitting 9th after pretty ordinary start to season, so I am going to hang in there, have faith my friends. The golden egg may yet be laid. Other teams will suffer injuries too sooner or later so may even out.

I'm still confused as to how one year we can attack but not defend, then immediately the next year remember how to defend (more desperate than ever) and forget completely how to score (despite our kick ass backline).

The mind boggles.

Our cattle are just simply frustrating to watch. Anyone think the off contract players have accepted their fate? I find it hard to believe Wayne would not be thinking major cleanout. We re-signed promising juniors but Fas, House, Taia and Edwards all seem to be very up in the air. It would be difficult when u r losing and playing poorly in a Wayne coached team. I mean knowing he is a coach without peer would hardly fill you with confidence about being retained.

Whether you chop any of the above blokes is one thing, but who replaces them. The player market isn't exactly brimming with talent. One minute you shed what you think is the dead wood, next minute you end up as Penriff.

 Are you fkn serious? The bloke never stopped trying and you're saying we need to get rid of him? As in, like, seriously?

He's been trying hard for 5+ years mate. Where the hell has that got us?
We had a chance to hit back and he threw the ball into someone's head. Is bombing the ball sky high, all he can really do? How about some grubbers and forcing a repeat set. Fu**. He's an experienced player but he plays like an amateur.

So the answer to our problem is simply sacking a bloke who was arguably our best performer on the weekend?

 You're clearly having a laugh.

I've stated in a previous thread that we don't re-sign him.

My main message is that he's shit, so stop making out like he's our star performer because he 'tries' hard.

*insert laughs here*

He is our star performer because he is just about the only bloke who is keeping us from losing every game.

The KOTW numbers speak for themselves

1 Jarrod Mullen 246
2 Danny Buderus 188
3 Kade Snowden 184
4 James McManus 176
5 Chris Houston 105

I would not write Mullo out of the14 for origin. It should be him or josh reynolds. Buerer still has his ways to go. Mullo could cover anywhere but prop and his defence speaks for itself. I want to see Stuart go for broke and put the Sims, Tamous and other top prospects in the team. Those kids will rip in and run Qld off their feet. It is seven in a row. What more reason do they need. I bet they give it a real shake.
