Round three vs The Storm

Just rewatched the ending.

For a big, flashy, match-winning type player, Kikau is such an unbelievable defender. He's had a few poor moments in the past (miss in the Roosters final last year comes to mind) but that scramble was one of the craziest things I've seen a guy do on a footy field. So many guys his size would have stayed down or jogged back at that moment. Instead he absolutely pegs it and launches himself in what must have seemed like the most hopeless of situations. Big guys just don't usually do things like that.

What a f**king play that was. Shoutout to Leniu who covered an insane amount of ground as well.

1. Crichton
2. Staines
3. Momorovski
4. Burton
5. To'o

Don't see any other option. With Naden unavailable it's hard to move Staines and find a decent replacement or else I would prefer that.

Just better not be May at fullback. Gonna have our depth tested early this year. Did remarkable winning last night with 2 of our best out, then losing our best player from the first hakf at halftime

Put Burton at fullback? Keeps the defensive line as is.

I’d be tempted to move Critta simply just to try and get him going this year. The most dangerous he’s looked was when he came ove to the right and ran that inside line off cleary last week. His defence has been good which is great but he just off with the ball and his passing.

Anasta wasn't very good. Locky and Fittler weren't that great at kicking. There was a reason Fittler was moved out of position in rep games

All 4 were very good kickers lol. Especially long kicking. Fitter played other positions in his younger years at rep level because he was so versatile.

ah okay.

We’ve got a few options for FB, just as long as it’s not May I’m fine with any of them.
May is fine, ONLY IF its during the match, not starting, like what happened last night, thats his role! what that does is not affect the rest of the teams job, especially in defence, and Kenny had a blinder too, huge minutes!!!
I reckon Burton, Crichton or Staines
But for me probably Burton, only to keep the same 17 barr edwards in their relative positions

Yeah Leniu looked really geared up for that game.

Leniu hit him low in the ribs as 3rd man in when Eisenhuth was already held by two other Panthers. It was on his blindside as well - I think there is a decent chance the match review committee with review hat and charge him - meaning our forward depth will be tested.
Which means if he is charged, maybe 2 week stint on the sidelines, and if he is slightly injured, kinda works in his favor too, if only for the rest... sorenssen, or hopgood probably comes onto the bench, and either martin or kikau used as the Leniu style battering ram

You can't be suspended for tackling too hard

I don't even understand what the charge would be? Wasnt late (not held), wasn't high or at the knees... Probably unnecessarily hard but I don't think that's against the rules.

The issue is it was on a guy standing still being held by two guys unable to defend himself. Ref should've called held by then.

They can charge him with a 'Dangerous Tackle'. That's a good catch all charge.

It was a nasty looking tackle, and not something I like seeing (especially by our players). I reckon he'll be charged - and if so the club should plead No Contest to wipe out any carry-over points. Give him a forced rest to get the knee right, and give Sorenson or Hopgood a run.

Or Lindsay Smith.
